1. I thought the 'shell' one was the thermoptic camouflage

2. Batou wouldn't be Batou without dem eyes!

So the shell one was a thermoptic camouflage suit? because in some scenes she has normal skin but when she took off her wet suit in the boat there was lines in her skin like the suit?

I went to see the 2:05 show in 3D less than 20 people with me. The visual effects were eye opening I would have loved to see more of the world, the action and characters were meh anyone could have played the parts. I have 2 questions 1) why was the Majors skin sometimes human and sometimes the shell suit it switched back and forth 2) Why does Batou have those stupid C-3PO eyes with the technology so advanced he should of had normal eyes?

I haven't seen the movie but the eyes in the anime and manga provide more functionality than regular eyes.

It could, but it won't.

They would just make a blown up Chronicle.

I have so many ideas for a live action DB franchise, starting from DB, the DB phase would be 3 or 4 movies, I don't know if it would be better to start it with pilaf or just go straight to the RR army, but it would be 1. King Pilaf movie, 2 and 3 Red Ribbon movies, and 4 Piccolo/Piccolo Jr movie, there would be 1 or 2 tournament segments 2 of the movies.

Then we could start with grown up Goku in the Saiyan Saga movie.

Goku and the Saiyans would need to be Asian actors, preferably Japanese, I would not worry about the hairstyles, for instance, Goku would be just a kid with wild hair slightly matted since he lives in the mountains with no contact from other humans, Yamucha would have an awesome semi-mullet, Bulma would have full blue hair, but for instance Raditz would have awesome stupidly long hair, Vegeta would have kind of long hair, his widow's peak, but I don't know if he would have his Guido hair, maybe just a little slicked back.

I would however focus on the scenery, and clothing, minimal to no redesign there, and most of all, the tone, it doesn't need to be ultra realistic like all the awful fan-made stuff is, and it has to have a good amount of body and silly humor, since DB started as a gag anime/manga.

Oh, and Goku would a kid, a real kid.

What about you? Do you have any ideas?

That all sounds good. I'd probably take the Superman 78 or even the MOS approach and show him escaping his planet, show glimpses of Frieza to set up a possible Frieza saga later on, then show him as a kid on earth, eventually we skip to him as a young adult and Piccolo is the main villain. I would also introduce the concept of the DB and the dragon and maybe Kami's lookout in this film.

I agree about the humor and the world not being ultra realistic. I would keep the costumes and the look of the environment as close as possible to the anime, especially the cities, the houses, and the technology.

The second film would be the Saiyan saga, since I think it can be done in one film if you get rid of all the standing around/posing they do in the show. The film would start with Vegeta and Napa attacking and destroying some planet like in the anime as the film's intro/hook, then we see Goku with his family being a good father and we catch up with the supporting characters like Krillin...etc, when Raditz shows up. His fight against Goku and Piccolo wouldn't be long, since he's just an appetizer, until Vegeta and Napa arrive in the second half of the act 2. Most of act 2 will be Goku training, some scenes of Gohan and Piccolo training, and the rest of the supporting characters getting the DB to bring back Goku just in time for the third act.

Third film can be the Namek saga, since there are a lot of things that can be cut out, imo.

As far as the cast, it would be a mix of Asian/Japanese actors and non Asian actors. Goku, Gohan, Krillin and Chi chi would be Asian, while Bulma, Vegeta, Piccolo, and Nappa don't have to be Asian. Someone like Batista could play Nappa or Raditz if they CGI the hair :lol

I think starting from the beginning with DB and Goku as a kid is nice too, showing the world, all the crazy creatures and dinosaurs and the RR army, but I think that stuff can be done as a prequel too, or not.

Your take seems much more plausible than mine, it's well streamlined, I like it, plus most people want to jump straight to DBZ, no love for DB ;_;

So a take like that may get more traction.

Yeah, people definitely want to see DBZ over DB, but you still can't ignore DB completely if you're making a DBZ film because you have to set up the world, the "rules", and certain characters who can't just show up in a DBZ film...unless you make changes.

I went with the most obvious/commercial approach, but it's almost like a summary and what Dragaon Ball Evolution tried to do probably, and it didn't work. Still, Ii think a better writer and filmmaker can make it work, even if the formula or structure of the story is by the numbers.

If you ignore DB completely and start with a DBZ film, then the most obvious change would have to be Piccolo being a bad guy and having some kind of history. They would have to make him one of the Z warriors, but would totally hurt his relationship with Gohan and his sacrifice later on, so that's why I would do a DB film with Piccolo as the main villain first.

DB with a young Goku could work as a series, since you don't have to be limited to a 3 act structure and a 2 hour limit per film. You can take your time with an 8 or 10 episode season.

The last of DBZE's problems was the story arc they chose, it was everything else that's wrong with it :lol

I wouldn't want DB or DBZ as a series because what's the point then? I'd rather watch the anime again (which I am :lol before I can start with Super).

I think DB can work either as a franchise of 2 or 3 trilogies that span from DB to DBZ or as a trilogy mainly focused on Z.

Also, I don't want no star-appeal for this, it has to be all no-names so they can blend perfectly in character, I still believe a DB/Z movie franchise can stand on its own on fan support and normie hype alone without the need for star appeal. It's one of the few franchises that I feel can have that luxury.

Wait, what's a DBZ.
Taiwanese finger paintings.

Have you see this?

I personally would not watch a db movie. Too childish and goofy.

I would definitely go to see dbz opening day.

Db only works as an anime... how would you translate these to live action without being goofy?

Young child goku would be like hit girl from kick ass. Would be seen as silly

Dude, seriously, you have zero imagination. Zero.

And DB is a GAG Anime. It's ok that it's silly, it's made of silly.

If DBZ can work, and it can, so can DB.

DBZ also needs to be silly.

That's just horrible. :lol

Are there good dbz fighting games?
Thats kinda terrible.
Ive seen better vids on youtube
Trust me, for youtube fan-made standards of DB stuff, that is the benchmark.

Obviously it's not presentable as an actual flick, that goes without saying.

Yeah he means that technology should have advanced to a stage where enhanced eyes look like normal ones. Like geordi la forge in star trek first contact onwards lol
