At least we'll finally get all of the unproduced Hasblo figures they were dangling in front of our faces when they blamed collectors for the death of the line.

Frankly, I wish to God there would never be another Indiana Jones after that abomination that was Skull. I would give everything I own just to erase it from existence.

So now, like Star Wars, we will have the "Holy Trilogy" and the "Unholy Trilogy."

They could always have a black hole suck Spock through to the past and ^^^^ up the whole space-time continuum with a Romulan killing Mutt and Marion, forcing Spock out of hiding to join with Indy to seek revenge...

TBH, I'm sooooooooo not looking forward to Indy passing the hat to Mutt. Likely that's what this movie'll be since Shia's pretty much been declared the successor by everyone involved. Christ, Harrison signed a hat for him with, "It's all yours now kid - Harrison" so unfortunately I think everyone's on the same page. :(

If Crystal skull is anything to go by and it took them soooo many years (what was it like 15 years?) to come up with a crap story like that, then im not holding my breath for another one anytime soon.....
Indiana jones is not Indiana jones without Harrison Ford, its as simple as that, and by the time a new script is written, finalised and approved by all, who knows when it will be or if Ford, Spielberg or Lucas will still be around........
I think we all bag Lucas quite a bit for the silly things he has done to Star Wars including Prequels, and remakes, and then the KOTCS story, but i think we should all remember if it wasnt for Lucas we would have no Star Wars or Indiana Jones full stop.
Its just that his ideas seem to be all crap these days.:banghead

Sweet! I liked KOTCS and still enjoy watching it. I think the 60's cult/B-movie aesthetic could be pulled off quite well in the Indy world.

The next one will be framed in some kind of 1960's cult/B-movie aesthetic, so it won't be Sci-Fi again.

Personally, I think something a long the lines of the Hammer Horror Films could be interesting.

But I suppose until we know more we'll just have to deal with the usual (tired) Geriatric jokes and INDY 4 Killed Baby Jesus comments.

Says the guy that has been bashing everything lately. Come on Carl. Just admit that KOTCS was sub par. You will feel better in the morning. :lecture

as Im sure its been mention before Im afraid this either will be completely or turn out to be a Mutt Jones movie and they'll forget all about poor Indy

Exactly, If not for SW then what would I spend my money on these days... booze and hookers? Wait a second.... :)

Only if it were the Crimson Indiana Jones. :lecture

I think the end of the KOTCS was a tease-it looked like it was going to be a cheesy and predictable unsubtle "passing the Hat" to Mutt, then Indy swipes it from him at the last second. i.e. there's only ever going to be one Indy, and that's Harrison. That's how I took it, and I loved the moment for that: a clever joke and an appreciation of the man who made this role so his own.

Bring on Indy 5 I say. Harrison has aged with grace. Nobody tried to pretend he hadn't aged in KOTCS. What's wrong with getting older but still being cool?

I'm tired of the "rest home of doom" type jokes. It happens to us all. How many of us will be able to do our own stunts in our mid sixties? credit where it's due, and enjoy Indy 5 it for the triumph it is in this regard. I just loved seeing indy running around doing his stuff again. And aliens are a lot more believable to me than spooky ghosts or melting faces!

Well, for every cool, nostalgic Indy scene, there was a tarzan Mutt to ^^^^ on it.

Some of you guys make me laugh. You live in your rose tinted 80's bubble were everthing was cool and nothing that comes out today could come close to touching those "classics"... e.g The Monster Squad thread.

i'd like to see indy 5 set a few years b4 kotcs like tod was set before raiders. that way indy isnt married so we can get a new female interest for him, and there will be no mutt either, (even tho i didnt mind him to be fair). this also give the possiblility of having henry jones snr back if connery can be persuaded (unlikely i know)
but we need more indy in the next film, i felt he took too much of a back seat in some of the action scenes to mutt-he didnt do anything for most of the the jungle chase!

id love to see a cameo from a grown up short round tho, the true hero of tod!

Well, I'll believe this when I see it. I'd be shocked if this movie is released within the next five years.

I didn't care for KOTCS, but if a 5th one graces the screen, yep, I'll go see it...simply because it's Indy and I'm always up for seeing Harrison don the outfit. But if and when Shia takes over, then I'm out. I'm old school; in my book, only Harrison can wear the hat.

My guess is if they can keep this one around the same time frame as KOTCS and give us a better story, then it could possibly work. Folks nit pick ToD and TLC, but they fit in well with Raiders, IMO, because they all take place within the same time period.

Bashing everything??

Sure, KOTCS is subpar... compared to ROTLA and TOD. When compared to TLC and especially 99% of other current blockbuster movies... not so much.

IMO TLC is better than TOD. Its just ahead of Raiders for my favorite Indy flick. So I don't think TLC is a bad movie at all.
