That looks good man. I too have a boat load of POs. Like 20 I think. Lol

Speaking of which, I have a number of melamine shelves attached to a wall in my media room via brackets attached to vertical rails. I plan to display 1/6 figures on them and have purchased flex lighting to attach to the underside of each shelf, to illuminate the figures on the shelf below.

Is it best to mount the lights in the center of the underside of each shelf, or more towards the rear of each one? If I mount them in the center, the lights will be more or less directly overhead of the figures. If I put the lights in the rear of the shelf, the lighting will be above and behind the figures.

For reference if it matters, I am using barlighting.com flex lighting.

TIA in advance for your thoughts on which position will show off the figures in the best light.

I think it would kinda depend on the ambiant light in the room...but without knowing I would say mount them toward the rear. You won't get as much wash out. And back lighting can have a really cool look. Maybe try a temp hold in each position and see which you like best.

Lighting the backs of the figures would just make them look like dark silhouettes surely.

Why not mount under the front edge of the shelf?

I have vertical LED strip lights all the way up the front rails of my cabinet and they light the figures up really well.

Thanks for the responses! For reference, here is a picture of the media room. The picture is fairly representative of the lighting level. As you can see, I was using the shelves for Steelbook display, but I have removed the Steels and spread out the shelves to accommodate 1/6 figures.

I think your idea of trying different positions makes sense. I'll temporarily mount the tape lights with some painter's tape in different positions, and see what looks best.

Mounting under the front edge of the shelves is a possibility I hadn't given much thought to. I guess I sort of assumed that mounting them there would throw most of the light on the floor and not much into the display space. But I will definitely give it a try.

You can get aluminium extrusion on eBay that sets a LED strip at a 45 degree and comes with a diffuser...

If you mount that under the front edge of the shelf it looks a bit more professional than those plastic LED strip modules. Or you could mount upwards facing at the front.

You would need to use the LED strip lights that come in 5 metre rolls from eBay. They are very cheap and there are a bunch of remote control/dimming options...also cheap.

Thanks! That's a good idea that I will look into.
