Thanks for the link porkchop! I will snap some pics on my next day off :) I really like digitalis stuff, I have them on my Camaro also, so much brighter than stock and look so nice

I think I may try to put some Challenger headlights in my car, but we'll see once I get to that point on fitment. I know there are aftermarket kits available but I'm not sure how well they fit or look.

Well porkchop it's hard to photograph taillights but here's an attempt IMG_6307.jpg
I can say that I was able to see when I drove last night and on a side note did a roll race against my buddies ls3 FD rx7 and pulled him :yess:

That looks great, nice and bright. Noticeably brighter than stock. Yah, I bet the headlights are a huge difference. Nice work.

Hopefully I'll get through my front end upgrades soon.

Yeah a huge difference! Wish my voltage wouldn't drop so much when my fans kick on but doesn't seem to affect anything. Once you get rolling again we should meet up at a car show

Went irwindale speedway last night....I should have swapped my rear wheels to my drag radials....zero traction all night, next time

Yeah it's closing in December I believe....you should try to make it out before Fontana is our only place to race

Not sure when I'll be able to do anything close to racing for a while, street driving until I feel comfortable with where the RR is at.

I'm going to make it a point to go to some sort of driving (track driving) "school". Just to be a better driver at high speed and gain more skill, I'm confident enough but want to be better. This is after all a hobby too so I might as well get the most out of it with all the $$ spent on my car. That way I can beat on someone else's car first before I take mine out.

I eventually want to get it DONE as well, sooner than later.

A driving school would be so much fun and beating on someone else car hahaha yes that's nice for sure. How's all your upgrades coming along?

Slower than I'd like but hopefully early next month. Then I get to sell off most/all of the old stuff, so there's that... but the driving should be a lot better.

Which suspension did you end up going with? And which steering improvements? Like a new steering box or a rack and pinion?

Sticking with stock setup for now, just upgraded:

New Borgeson PS Box.
New PS Pump.
All new steering linkage; new pitman and idler arm and tie rods with thicker steel sleeves.
New larger front hollow sway bar.
New larger torsion bars.
Rebuilt LCA with added support. Already have tubular UCA.
Front end frame - radiator support.
Inner fender brace.
Torque Boxes, body support.
New serpentine pulleys and brackets.
New dampener. I may stick with what I have, will decide later.
New radiator overflow tank.
Some new hoses and wire wraps.

Will need a 4-wheel alignment & a valve job.

If at some point I feel it can be improved, maybe I do rack & pinion with coil-overs, I wont rule that out. Next big upgrade after this is the tremec, hopefully sometime next year.

Oh man! That is a lot of work but it should feel nice and tight after you're done. If you're going to do a valve job why not just put some aluminum heads on there?:monkey3 edelbrock has alum heads for your 383 (I think you have a 383) for a pretty reasonable price. Sorry I know it's so easy for me to spend your money hahaha I'm just of the mind set like "I'll want alum heads eventually so if I have to pull the heads I may aswell get em now"

Aluminum heads were my original plan when I had the motor built, years ago.

The shop was known for their headwork. https://www.valleyhead.com

The builder convinced me to stick with the stock heads, fully ported with oversize valves machined for dual springs and port matched to the intake. (He had a '57 Bel Air in the back with 383 stroker that he raced.) My 383 has a 3 bolt mechanical roller cam with 1.5 gold rockers with matching lifters. The motor has a lot of work (and $'s) put into it, fully machined balanced and blueprinted. I guess I thought I was going to really race at the time, bracket racing maybe. Young(er), single with money to spend, :lol

Anyway, fast forward and I sunk this motor into my '69 about 1.5 years ago and I'm still trying to put the Car together with toning down the original build for the street. Which is why I'm really interested in efi. Because of the cam it's just time to have the valves checked and adjusted.

Oh you already have a bunch of work in the heads, bad a$$! Solid roller, ftw, that 383 must rev like crazy and sound just a beastly as they come. What kind of comp ratio are you running? Yeah solid roller needs valve adj more often, that was a reason I went hyd roller, low maintenance but also less rpm. Everything is a compromise. I guarantee you'll be extremely happy making the jump to efi, man I can't wait to check out your ride
