Yes, Maul was a great bad guy. As you said not a great death but at least he took being sliced in half like a man. He basically stared down Obi-Wan even as his torso quietly fell down the shaft. That at least was pretty bad ass.

Best character of the entire PT.

Maul? Took his death is silence. More from shock that he got is ass handed to him by a rookie.

Dooku? Took his death like a man.

Boba and Mace? Screamed like beoches.

And then Vader's little "Ermahgerd..." whimper as he fell down when Luke sliced off his hand. Return of the Jedi was not kind to previously badass villains.

At least Tarkin got to go out on his own terms.

And Vader showed pain when his robo hand was cut off. So that at least makes it ok for when Pops T-800 speaks in a strained voice.

Maybe.

Using SW to justify anything is silly. :lol

Boba Fett had the worst death for a great villain I've ever seen. Accidently hit by a blind guy with a stick...

At least jango went out in a battle against one of the most powerful jedi ever.

Maul was just too cocky. He played obi wan and qui gonna perfectly. He force pushed obi wan and he casually walked up to the pit like he had planned every single second of the fight. Leading them from the hangar to the reactor area, to those red shield things, separating them...he won the cat and mouse game like a master. Then he suddenly decides to swing his lightsaber at the ground above obi like a little child and forgets that he has reflexes.

Vaders real death was the prequel trilogy. This great character that was supposed to be so menacing and powerful was a whiny little brat who is really only like 40% of how strong he is supposed to be if he stayed human.

The longer SW as a brand lives the worst it is for it's villains legacies lol

I disagree.

Maul's overconfidence was his downfall. Even then, he still lives and comes back, battles Palpatine and puts up a decent fight. Still alive.

Jango Fett fights off the greatest duelist of all time in Obi-Wan and laters falls in a frantic arena to another powerful Jedi Mace Windu

Dooku/Grievous were dominant throughout the Clone Wars, both dying in a good saber duels against Anakin/Obi-Wan.

It is stupid to think Vader was ruined by a child. What did you think he was before Vader? Vader died redeeming himself and saving his son. Nothing about him was ruined during the PT.

I think people's expectations for pre-Vader Anakin were a man who was everything Vader was, but with it aimed towards positive things and that his turn to the dark side would be horrifying and shocking, like how could he be turned. Getting someone who was homesick and so attached to loved ones that he ultimately would server as anyone's ***** to save them doesn't quite hold up. Vader serves the Emperor but he always seems to command his own respect and do his own thing and even manipulate the Emperor to what he wants, Anakin will do whatever Palpatine asks him to do no questions asked.

Anakin was conflicted and his hand was forced in that moment he had to choose between saving Mace or saving his best hope of preventing Padme's death. Even then he knew he'd done the wrong thing but he pledged himself to Palpatine in the hope he could save her.

Maul coming back was a stupid idea. I loved him as a character but he was definitely better off with a more mysterious background and persona. He's not nearly as interesting in the clone wars cartoon--I actually liked his brother better in animated form. Hanging with pirates and death watch and bounty hunters just seemed below him. Seeing him plead...no beg....for his life so cowardly was the cherry on top. It just did not seem like the character at all from the TPM.

Vader had a backstory as described by obi wan that sounded more flattering than it was. He glossed over all the selfish decisions, tantrums and power-trips and feelings of entitlement that Anakin displayed in Episode 2 and 3 especially. Throw that in with an actor who forced every piece of crappy dialogue with awkward camera presence--Vader suddenly looked way weaker than before imo. Way more manipulated. The OT made me feel Vader was a prized possession of the emperor who was wise as they come (just on the wrong side) and transformed into this powerful unstoppable jedi killer. But the PT made it clear that he got played like a fool pretty much his entire jedi career and after not being able to handle his hissyfits he got his ass handed to him and instead find out Vader is actually a handicap for the emperor. He had potential to be the greatest force user and duelist...and he ends up as the SW equivalent to the sith special olympics.

The clone wars cartoons (both of them) show a truly worthy pre-Vader Anakin. But it shouldn't have to rely on that. The movies either dropped the ball or were meant to make Vader seem far more human and quite short of the legend. The OT he's the man but the PT definitely knocked him down a few levels.

I mean even at his most evil, DB'ery, he's not even bad ass. He's supposed to hunt all these jedi and exterminate the order. What does he do in actuality? The clones take out the jedi and Vader kills little children (aside from sucker slicing mace). The one jedi he actually faces he loses 3 out of 4 limbs and ends up a "what if" in the potential department.

Palpatine should have killed Padme and manipulated it to look like the Jedi had done it. THAT would have been an obvious way to push Anakin over to the Dark Side and have him go after the Jedi with a vengeance.
As for Maul....I still think it would have been epic had he been turned into General Grievous (if you HAD to bring him back, that is).

Yes, suicide by apathy is probably the stupidest way imaginable for her to have died.

When Obi-Wan showed her the babies I'm surprised she didn't just say "Call them whatever you want, I don't ****ing care." *dies*

Padmé's death scene is so stupid!

And Maul should have escaped Naboo after killing Qui-gon and they should have used him in the other PT films.
