Re: Darth Vader ESB/ROTJ Removable Helmet/Full Reveal

I can't wait to get this Vader and the ANH version for a reasonable price!

Re: Darth Vader ESB/ROTJ Removable Helmet/Full Reveal

I would guess the price will be close to or even a bit over $200. But it will certainly be less than the overpriced Medicom V 2.0.

I really think this figure is shaping up to be the ultimate 1/6 Vader :rock

Re: Darth Vader ESB/ROTJ Removable Helmet/Full Reveal

The ultimate version is a concept that does not exist in collection! Unfortunately for our bank account!:lol

Re: Darth Vader ESB/ROTJ Removable Helmet/Full Reveal

Wow! :panic:

Just found out bout this! SS better be working together with HT on this one and let em paint the anakin human sculpt.

My prediction was right; I'm getting an official SS/HT Vader before I get my long over due Hurc Vader :duh

Re: Darth Vader ESB/ROTJ Removable Helmet/Full Reveal

SS doesn't need ht to do a good job. They're figures are really quiet good on their own.

This is a full SS release.

No HT.

No HT needed. :lecture

Re: Darth Vader ESB/ROTJ Removable Helmet/Full Reveal

Even though Anakin's human, his scarring makes the paint apps more alien and Sideshow has always managed to turn out really nice paint work on their creatures, even Palpatine came out real nice. The only real weakness in their paint, though sure it could aways be better, are eyes, they're always so basic.

To me, 3 areas kept the ANH Vader from that.

- Height
- Dome
- Cape

Improve all those areas and keep everything else that was right about ANH Vader and you'll have one damn fine figure. I always felt there was almost a PF quality to the ANH Vader, but the factors I mentioned do hurt it a bit.

Re: Darth Vader ESB/ROTJ Removable Helmet/Full Reveal

Sorry, back to Vader... everyone seems to be taking it for granted that the suit will light up - yet the picture doesn't show anything lit up? Is there some other source for that info?

As far as I know, Sideshow's never even hinted that Vader's belt or chest piece will light up. It's just hoped for, given the level of detail we now all know is possible (e.g., light up features in Iron Man, IG-88).

Re: Darth Vader ESB/ROTJ Removable Helmet/Full Reveal

:woo

It would rule if they presented him at SDCC the way they did the first one, this time flanked by Snowtroopers.

Totally agree, and those were the three areas I changed on mine and it made a big difference. If Sideshow addresses those and keeps the same quality as the ANH they will have a winner.

Re: Darth Vader ESB/ROTJ Removable Helmet/Full Reveal

Pretty much. I thought it was a good all around Vader. Eyebrows don't make sense on a burnt head, and Vader wasn't always sad, defeated guy under the mask. It is more of a "I'm still a bad mofo" Vader. I thought of is as what Vader would have looked like while brooding in his pod on the Star Destroyer before his dome came down. Anakin/Vader is an angry guy.

Shoot. I'm sure it will look awesome but I don't want ANY deviations from his appearance in 1983. 2004 singed eyebrows might "make sense," but not for Shaw as he originally appeared and I don't want to be reminded of Lucas' revisions in any way when I glance at my collectibles. Oh well, the dome is really all that matters anyway. If they nailed that I'll be good. :)

Re: Darth Vader ESB/ROTJ Removable Helmet/Full Reveal

I don't get why people want lights in the figure. I know it will be cool and freaking awesome. But to be honest I wouldn't use it. And I don't want to pay €20,- more for something I would use 1 time and never ever again... It's just a cool feature nothing more nothing less. And as some people already said; if they just fix the 3 points of the ANH version (dome, cape and height) this could be the best 12" Vader ever made (until now)!
He doesn't need lights for that :dunno

And something I'm afraid of is that the lights wouldn't work properly. And that could piss of a lot of the "OMG I want lights in Vader" fans :wink1:
