So, I'm planning on getting the HT Bespin Luke, and you really need Vader to go with that. How do you guys think this will stack up to Hot Toys? I can't see them doing a Vader for awhile at this point, and the Medicom version that is currently on preorder is not enough bang for the buck IMO. Plus, this guy is looking really cool in that teaser picture...

...and that's about it. About as cool as Yoda's "representin' my peeps" appearance at the MTV awards.
And back to Vader... really hoping this new fig needs no tweaking and turns out to be the "ultimate" Vader. It was pretty amazing to see so many people doing so much on their SSC Vaders!
And with a light-up feature, what a great display this thing is going to make with the "bloody" HT Luke Bespin.

Well, I'm definitely not missing this one. I've always preferred the ESB/ROTJ to ANH and what's more, we're getting a removable helmet (or interchangeable head). Score.

I'm pretty nitpicky but I wouldn't have any concerns about the quality of this Vader matching Hot Toys' Luke release. This, IG-88 and Boba Fett all look fantastic, either in-hand (IG) or just judging from the prototypes in Boba and Vader's case.
I would guess Hot Toys will eventually be allowed to do Vader, but if that's the case it would have to be 3+ years away. On the other hand, if they wanted HT to do it, they could've let them with this iteration instead of working on it themselves. Wouldn't wait for HT, personally.

Awesome thanks Invictus, I think I'll get him then! July is going to be destroy my bank account, lol. Well, I might as well look into Boba Fett as well. I've been holding off on 1/6 stuff, especially SW, but HT Luke (and the promise of Episode III Anakin) I can't resist anymore.

Those prototype pics of Boba Fett look incredible. I was on the fence for a long time when it came to actually purchasing anything 1:6 Star Wars, but it was those pics (along with IG-88 and HT's Bespin Luke) that made me commit. Can't wait to see Boba in-hand within the next few months (assuming no further delays) and really looking forward to all the new info we'll be getting via SDCC. Going to be a lot of fun to see how everything develops this summer.

Yeah Boba Fett does look really nice. I'm not sure how many SW figures I can do with all of the Avengers stuff. Vader will be the first one I get, and if Boba Fett doesn't sell out soon I might fudge him into my FLEXpay. I have to have Luke though.

Yeah, Avengers is a huge commitment and totally understandable that it's going to squeeze a lot of other stuff out. I've been keeping tabs on all those threads in the Marvel section, but fortunately for me I'm just not too interested in the movie versions of a lot of those characters (though loved the movie, like pretty much everyone else). I picked-up War Machine SV and think that figure looks amazing. I'm going to bide my time and pick-up an Iron Man at some point to display with him and then maybe some stuff here and there as it comes out. Hoping SSC will release a 1:6 comics version of Doctor Doom, at some point.

Plus if for some reason it does sell out, there will be a ton of SSC partner sites that will have it in stock for a limited window of time.

Yeah, Marvel is my main thing, then G.I. Joe (but not 12"), and then Star Wars. So I'll grab a couple of SW things this year, and see how it goes. I'll take your advice on Boba Fett and just play it by ear. Darth Vader I'll grab once he's up for PO.

Can't stand this orgy of Avengers that's spread like a seasonal virus through this place. It's like watching a 3-mile line of nerds camped outside the Apple store for the next must-have tekky gadget. I do 'get it', I'm just bored to tears by most of it. It's refreshing to visit this section and be reminded of the classics.
