Yep, that's correct. There's a member here who offers cold cathode light-up sabres from time to time in the custom section for a pretty reasonable price (around $50.00, I think). When I'm ready, I'll grab a couple of those. They beat any LED versions hands down.

Edit: Member's name in katkuru. He's got a tutorial thread here, but also offers completed sabres every so often. You just have to watch for his sale threads and get on ASAP.

That would be sweet !

Just out of curiosity what are the exact issues with this figure?

That's good then. But the light sabre has no light. Correct?

I read few major negative feedback about this figure. Is it really that bad ? I want to have one 1/6 stairways figure and joggling between this and darth magul

Both this figure and the first release are fine figures. Most of the folks here want an EXACT recreation of the costumed character in thier home and after whipping out the calipers, if the figure is not identical in every way, from every angle, they huff and puff and blow thier disatisfaction way out of proportion.

the average fan would be overall happy with version 1 and so far this version is looking pretty good too...
:peace

Well I guess if paying 230-40 you should expect some level of perfection and accuracy. But I read the helmet shape is wrong , his face is long ? And etc . Just interested to know what are the issues others noted :)

dude, if you have to ask, perhaps it isn't an issue for you? if you dig it... perhaps that is enough?
Yeah, I'd have to agree with that. I have some issues with the figure but that's just how it looks to my eye. If someone else likes it, I don't really want to ramble about what I don't like. Other thing is it's still really early. The figure could change a lot between now and when it's released. I'm waiting for in-hand pics before forming any conclusions.

Can't speak for the upcoming version as I don't have it in hand YET, (and yes I think the pants need some futzing in the one picture as they do look a little baggy) but.....

Consider for the past few years....folks have been railing against Sideshow and the version one how horrible and inaccurate it looks. When you consider however that sideshow hand crafts their figures from visual references, there will be some "artist drift" from what you or I would consider perfection and you are paying for the art....not perfection. Like all art, it's in the eye of the beholder and you may not like what you see....don't buy it.

For my part, I have always been satisfied with version one D.V., even if the slope of his helmet may not be MATHAMATICLY perfect. When he sits on my shelf however....and is surrounded by his imperial minions...he has the feel of the Dark Lord of the Sith and that's what I'm after.

I really liked MCs review of v.1 (check it out below) and just go with your passion. If you don't want to track down a V1......be patient for in-hand picts of V.2......I bet he will still be on sale after he is released. He won't sell out.....the nose isn't a perfect triangle......

Look at the pictures of this figure then look up actual pictures of Darth Vader.

I did it and I couldn't spot anything in particular lol the helmet seems to be a bit different, maybe a bit larger on the top ? And short around ?
I genuinely want to know what people can see .

Congratulation...you are somewhat sane :)

Well we're all freaks here! :dance

I don't know...the more I see some vids of the actual figure the better it looks. Like it's not nearly as bad as how it looks in the RS pics to me. :huh

I genuinely want to know what people can see .

Are you really sure that that's what you want? :lol

I've got an original ANH SSC Vader. I want to keep it in out-of-the-box condition because... just because. I switched out the cape, but haven't remounted the dome and I haven't done a body swap. And I still dig it.

I don't want to know what the detail experts can see tbh, because it seems to me that they're the ones who are least satisfied with any goddam figure they get. Miserable bastards.

It's weird. I think Vader looks fine in videos (except for the raised dome),
but the close up pics tell another story.

:lol

Read back through the thread.

Do you need bullet points? :huh

Yeah why not ? :) by knowing it I am not going to commit a suicide or have depression. Heh.
But I guess best is to wait till it is in hand . Might be unfair to judge a prototype product before it's final release.

For all you Darth Vader freaks.
