I'm pretty stoked about him. He's going to be my first "display in box" figure. Probably my only one. :D

Look at that edition size!!!:horror I see my Sith Eyes PaintingService going out the window....:monkey2

Yup, this thing kicks ass. You can see the difference between the two and it's more than just the eyes.

Wow, that's awesome. Love the base.

The base is a major selling point for me. That's really nice. I hope it's the beginning of a trend. I'd love to see some more figures coming with location-specific bases. And this one looks fantastic. Perhaps we can get a similar on for Gen. Kenobi?

I also love that they thought to darken the areas around his eyes. Extra-nice. I guess you don't get much sleep when you slaughter your entire adopted family, hop over to a distant world, slaughter some cowering aliens, then choke your wife half to death.... Those circles under his eyes only got worse by ROTJ. I wonder if Vader EVER slept.

Now, I've got a good reason to display Anakin without his robe, and App. Vader with his on and the hood up. Maybe I'll just display the box next to him....

Exactly my plan Customikey. I already knew that I was going to use the ORIGINAL Anakin 12" in a display dueling the 12" Obi-Wan...Thus no robe...But THIS Sith Eyes 'Darth Vader - Sith Apprentice' version will be PERFECT to display with the robe on and hood up...Just as he looked leading the clonetrooper army into the Jedi Temple!

:D

This is an awesome figure and I MUST have him, you it's a good edition size too, I wonder if the Attendee preorder will leave any for nonattendees, I seriously think there will be, I mean there are a lot of people interested in getting the figure, but not very many of them will be able to go to the convention, 5,500 just to get the Anakin exclusive is doubtful, I wonder if they thought about this, I guess they just made the edition size really big to accomedate the people who can't go but didn't think about the Attendee orders not selling out, I could see the non-attendee amount doubling.

Anyway, the figure looks awesome, and I really like the base. I wonder when we'll be getting Maul then, because he can't be announced in next weeks letter, and I doubt he would be announced in the letter after that, so this will get pretty interesting.

Darth--the non-attendee figures are a separate deal. If the attendee figures sell out, it will not take anything away from the number of items previously set aside for the non-attendees, so don't worry about that.

I'll either have mine hood up for a temple raid or Seperatist slaughter, or perhaps dueling with Obi-Wan. We really need a Mustafar Obi-Wan now with a lava droid base to go with Vader. The eyes are very nice, and do I see a tear?

Since he is $55, would that mean he'll come with the robotic arm and the rest of the Jedi Anakin accessoires? I hope he comes with one or two new ones (hands maybe?) than just the base, which is awesome.

I can't wait to see Freddy and Subject 5 now!

EDIT: With Krycek coming tomorrow, I wonder if Sideshow ever thought of doing changeable Sith eyes too for Anakin's exclusive and had to quickly throw in the Sidious Holograph because the plan backfired (or they needed a new SDCC exclusive because Kit was becoming a regular release).

I'm also curious what his "accessories" will be. All I really need is that dark robe.

I'm also glad they didn't "distress" the outfit. But I do kinda wish they had changed the hair piece somewhat -- maybe more wet and straggly.

What I was saying is that it's possible that the Attendee Preorder won't sell out and we will be having more (maybe double) for the people who can't go to SDCC. So like there could be 1,200 figures for non-attendees rather than just 600.

I kind of hoped for something like that. I know that a complete resculpt would have taken a lot of time and effort, but just redoing the hair piece might have been possible. As it is, the new figure doesn't seem remarkably different other than the eyes. I am interested in seeing a list of the accessories. It seems that the only differences that they are advertising are the Sith Eyes, the droid base, and the Sith packaging. They haven't mentioned any other differences or accessories. I wonder if this will come with everything else that the normal one does.

And does the base have the usual metal clamp that holds up the figure?

It looks like the very same figure to me.

Maybe its a "magnetic" base! Like the mynock gag. :D

I completely agree. Eyes alone are a bit of a cheat, if you ask me. At least the base it totally cool.

Werewolf Oz was a complete resculpt even if the hands were reuse from Hunchback so it's not unreasonable to expect a resculpt of Anakin's hair.

BUT he looks different enough and the expression is so perfect for the Sith eyes, that I don't think anyone will miss the straggly hair. And despite the base, the expression is more in keeping with the march to the Temple than it is the duel on Mustaphar, so I don't really think we need the hair to be different.

The figure looks about what I expected it to and as I passed on the regular Anakin I'll have a go at pre-ordering this one. I like the base and would like to see some more unique bases/stands included with future figures.

I am really hoping they give us sad non-att. at least 1200 to fight over...thats very close to Lukes exc.ES and that would make the PPO a little less stressful....600 would go in a blink of an eye...1200 may take two blinks, but thats better than one...
