Somehow my TiVo missed the episode where Lana learns she's been hanging out with Bizzaro Clark and that plot resolves.

I picked things up with the Black Canary episode. Other than seeing comic characters in the show, I can't say I enjoy it that much any more.

I didn't even bother to watch this last week's episode, first time I've skipped one. I've been tuning in out of habit for the last few seasons, I think I'm at the point now where I couldn't really care less if I catch it or not.

Yea, since season one, it's just a habit for me to watch; I love superman, so I honestly just watch it (even though they butchered the mythos)

CW has announced that their Superman-themed show, Smallville has been picked up for an eighth season. After beginning on WB Network, Smallville moved to the CW and will become the longest running show on the network's current slate as of next season. Despite losing viewers after this season's premiere, Smallville continues to create ancillary revenues for the CW through soundtrack releases, novels, a DC comic book, and trading cards. The fact that this renewal announcement has hit so early should be of great encouragement to fans, as it shows them that the network has real confidence in the program and where it is headed. CW's other Thursday Night program, Supernatural, has also been renewed.

Interesting since originally it was slated for only 7 and I believe most of the actors had contracts that went to that many seasons. If the show is renewed I'm wondering what kind of contracts they've got on the main cast now....

awesome, thanks for posting that mike! this is the only show that I really watch, aside from heroes so another season is welcome in my book. cant have too much superman lore.

by the way, when is the next new episode?

From what I read April.....continuing a couple into May but then off air until next season...

Hopefully, is contract disputes, they can kill off Lana. Her character has been pointless the last couple of seasons. It will be good to see Pete back next week.

Normally they sign actors to 5 year deals at first. They may have been just going year to year since then. Rosenbaum has said he won't come back for an 8th season, but I hope that's not the case.

They have so many opportunities for spin-offs here - Kara, Lois, Ollie or Lex all could have their own shows.

I liked what they tried to do with this - having Clark enter Lex's mind might have been a good gag. And the little Alexander being the "good" side is also clever. But the plot of this thing was just stupid.

"Our friends are missing! Instead of doing the simplistic detective work it would take to find them, let's use an experimental sci-fi device that has killed people to find out the information!" "Yes, that's an excellent idea!"

The trailer made it look great, but I agree it failed miserably. The whole thing reminded me of a bad rip off of the movie The Cell.

It's really, really hard to like Smallville when they pull this kind of crap. It was pretty bad when Lois, who was unemployed and complaining about having to live with the Kents, all of a sudden has a brand new Ford Focus - a car which she uses to distract a security guard. Or when Chloe gets a brand new Yaris and has to mention the brand of the car at least twice in the episode.

But when Stride gum gets it's slogan built into the plot (the factory is closed because the flavor lasts so long they went out of business) and the WB band dujour gets labelled all over the place, and has 2 music videos built into the episode - IT REALLY PISSES ME OFF!

And what Stride executive thought this was a good idea? I'd like to see that meeting - "So our product becomes toxic and infects a main character! It will be flying off the shelves!" At least they have a new slogan now - "Kryptonite free!".

What's more disappointing that this could have been a nice callback episode to the comic - too bad it wasn't Jimmy with the gum, but it still would have been cool. But the product placement just completely took me out of the story and made me mad.

The trouble with smallville and other tv shows is that they don't consistently have the same writers doing the episodes. that leads to all kinds of inconsistencies.

smallville never a really show of cohesion. It's usually all over the place, forgetting that happened in previous episodes. I've become accustomed to that when watching the show and try to overlook it. My main beef was with the plot of the episode; WHY would pete try to eat kryptogum when knows what it does to people. OR, did he leave the show before we, the audience, "figured" out what kryptonite does to normal humans.

my main beef with the show is that for the trailer for this episode march 13th, they were showing trailers for next week's episode, which I HATE !!!

After skipping the last episode out of sheer apathy, I decided to check this one out because of Pete's return and I'm rewarded with Kryptonite chewing gum turning him into Mr. Fantastic and an hour long Stride commercial.

Oh, and good call bringing Supergirl into the show then taking away her memory so she doesn't know she's Supergirl, so we infact don't end up with Supergirl at all. Brilliant!

It's not the continuity I have a problem with - it's the way over-the-top product placement. It's just outrageous. I don't think any show has been this bad with the product placement aside from reality shows like American Idol.

Wow, wonder how much Stride paid for not only product placement, but an integral part of the plot. That ep sucked quite hard...and now I remember why I never liked Pete Ross.

Before the cars were the worst, but even in the early seasons they did it.

Clark had Old Spice deodorant in his locker and then there was a banner hanging over the football field for Old Spice. I remember thinking - "Does Clark need deodorant?" and also "What teenager uses Old Spice?" But it wasn't nearly as obtrusive and anger-making as the Stride commercial.

Well.....it was Old Spice: High Endurance....I used to use that a lot back when.....:lol

The problem with Smallville is that its a POS show right now. It was amazingly interesting and at least followable a couple of seasons back, even last season had its defining moments but now its like they've not only beat the hell out of the horse but, skinned it and put on the suit made of the dead horse skin and beat the hell out of that as well.

Its time for the show to with ++++ or get off of the pot. Send him to Metropolis and stop with this Freak of the Week bull++++.
