Honestly people they are a material item. They are not a necessity. You don't have to buy them if you don't want too. They are collectibles not Pokemon. You don't have to catch em all if you cant afford too. :D

Bingo! There's nothing that says you must buy them. I do cause I feel they're worth it. They're not musts for me but something I buy as a way to get away.

I want a Porche 911 turbo. I can't afford one. I don't then bash the company about their prices. I just simply go on with life.

I don't think the slow sellout has anything to do with price. Lets be honest....as cool as Han Solo is he is no Commander Praji.

I know. There are plenty of things in life I have to pass on cause of price. I don't see why the prices of toys is an issue.

Because it's the Star Wars "How Dare They" mentality. Some people think that the prices should be set at what they want, no more and no less. I say let the market dictate where the prices should be. And if things like slow sellouts keep flippers away thats fine. As long as SS turns some kinda profit and makes more dolls Ill keep buying.

Well a flipper will buy something and then try and resell it for more money. a scammer will claim to have something when they actually don't and take your money and run.

I agree with your thoughts completely.

Personally, I think that threshold for Sideshow figures is $70. I think once you get past that point, it'd better something spectacular or a lot of people are just going to pass.

Are you saying there is no pain threshold Sideshow could cross that would make you question whether or not they are overcharging for their products? You'd be fine paying $150 for Han Solo? How about $175? $200?

Depending on the package - accessories, sculpt, outfit and the like - I'd probably stop at $100 for a basic figure and become very choosy about what I buy. Armored stuff, probably stop at comparable Medi prices at $125-$150. However by then I would like to see the body changed but the height differences kept, and probably newer hands as well. Another thing I think SS would be crazy not to do is sell hand packs and the bodies separate. I would probably go back and upgrade most of my collection that way. Also Justin's idea of head packs would be gold at this point as well, it would allow them to not have to revisit any character/outfits but allow those of us that want a different sculpt to have it.

"In MY day you'd buy a doll for a shiny two-bits... But it wasn't a doll-- it'd be a cow turd all gussied up with bits of silver that you'd shave off of the machine you were strapped to for sixteen hours of the day just in order to bring home four bits--- half of which you spent on cow turd dollies--

THAT's the way it was and we liked it!"

"Cow turd dollies?... For two-bits?... Luxury my friend. Luxury.

In MY day we'd grease up our hind quarters and prance around the square just to get the doll maker's eye-- We'd have to dance a seductive dance in order to be allowed to even LOOK at the dollies in the window."

"LOOK at dollies in the window?... You lucky SOB... I gotta pay $65 bucks for a Han. Luxury."

It took 4 or so HOURS for the Exclusive with an ES of 1977 to sell out, so I'd say that has already begun. I hope Sideshow is paying attention. This looks to be a GREAT figure... it's obviously the price that turned many away, not the figure itself.

I guarantee you if this was $54.99 or even $59.99 it would have sold out in half the time if not much quicker.

Seriously, this thing is about 20% more than Bespin Luke!

Who the flip cares.

If you think something costs to much, get this, don't buy it. Crying on a message board, sending emails or even calling won't change anything. Not buying a product will.

Even if you buy it from somewhere else for cheaper, Sideshow is still getting their money on it. Direct sales are just icing on the cake.

I buy direct from them because they have the best customer service if there is a problem and I can cancel preorders without any fee's. Like anything in life, you pay for good service.

My Lord, is the sky falling?!? So we've gone from a $65 figure, to worries of paying $150 for Han in the future... lets not get carried away here.

And I love how everyone thinks that a figure selling out in over 1 hour is a sign that fans are angry :lol The figure still sold out, and probably sold out to collectors who really want the exclusive... not prospectors or flippers.
