What is not deluxe about the version we already got? Just curious. I have it and like it quite well. I don't know what you could add to make it better.

I missed him on the first round so now the prices are too high. So was hoping they'd release another version for us folks who missed out the first time

Ah, I see. You know, they likely will. Not sure what changes could be made because he is quite nice. He has both Phase I and II helmets and well equipped.

They're yet to revisit any of the figures they've done in the past. Shame they don't keep making Snowtroopers and Stormtroopers.

They're revisiting Vader as we speak since he's up for pre-order. So there's some hope, but I have a feeling they will only revisit the more popular characters..

The pre-order Vader is just the rest of the production that should have been delivered earlier this year - there was never supposed to be a break in Vader sales.

Well a newer Vader was released, so anythibg is possible. But I really do not know if a new version of the stormy report is on the way or not.

EDIT: Looking in the SS archives there was another Darth Vader 1:6 scale figure made several years ago, so my point is still valid that they did redo him, so there's still a chance for SS to redo some of the other characters also.

You misunderstood. The "Newer Vader" is the Deluxe Vader that went up for pre-order last year and started shipping this January. This is a Return of the Jedi Vader. There was a Star Wars Episode IV Vader previously. Released in 2008 I believe - that's 5-6 years between figures.

I wasn't making any claim as to whether a new Trooper would be released, I was simply making a correction regarding Vader. So your point, about them "revisiting" vader "as we speak since he's up for pre-order," is what I was correcting in my reply. It's what's wrong/invalid/misinformed. Everyone knows they'll release a new Stormtrooper - it's guaranteed. We just don't know when.

Here's the full story of the Deluxe Vader.

The Exclusive edition shipped first (extra severed hand) and then the regular version started shipping. There have been a lot of quality control (manufacturing, assembly and packaging) issues which have necessitated a large number of replacement parts. Replacement parts have been exhausted at least once and a new supply has had to come from the factory. According to Sideshow their initial production run didn't meet their order requirements and they have had to run another production to make more. We've speculated, but it has not been confirmed, that this was due to all the replacements that had to be sent out.

When the stock ran dry the Vader was changed to pre-order status with a date of 2015 - people speculated incorrectly this was yet another Vader or an improved version. This pre-order date was a mistake on their database and it was corrected to July 2014. It's the same Darth Vader Deluxe, they're just waiting for more stock.

Really happy with my new 501st that I grabbed from the Hot Toys store in Hong Kong. They've made some serious improvements, helmet looks much better. It'd be nice if all these extras with the deluxes came with every Clone.

Anyone think that some of these newer and larger deluxe weapons might warrant some integrated effects lighting? Just thinking of something I might be able to do to give the shelf a little more pop.
