I keep playing this hoping to force myself to lIke it......just isn't happening. Of course going 5-16 every match isn't helping.

I think it'll help a lot if they have maps that aren't in terrain but have buildings, etc. Death Star would be awesome. Or Mos Eisley.

It's not bad but it feels sluggish and slow strafing and I can't imagine there'll be many guns. Only two factions is a Shame too as they could've easily had Clones & Separatist and those weapons

I can't shake the feeling they'll have half the game as DLC too meaning it can't be a day one purchase as it won't be worth the cost

I found it to be more fun after I played a few rounds and accumulated enough point for a few upgrades and got familiar with the controls. Also don't just straight into the Hoth level before upgrading or it's going to be rough going.

I hate the starships. So much. I can't get control of them whatsoever. If you increase the mouse sensitivity for vehicles, it does it for turrets as well so you basically have to choose between the two. Even with 100% mouse sensitivity I still despise the starship combat. Maybe it'll be better in space battles if they ever release that.

I think video games have simply left me behind. I'm just ****ing terrible now. I had maybe 10 kills and 100 deaths. Everyone just picks me off so easy from across the map. If I do get close I lose EVERY close battle. Just isn't fun.

I'm with you on that. I despise multiplayer for those very reasons.

It does have a SP mode, it just doesn't have a single player story like Battlefield or COD. But neither did the first Battlefront games.

It's the one thing I wished that they would have left behind. Jus do a story mode like COD, and they might have someing on their hands.......

Dumb question, I haven't downloaded yet, do I need Xbox Live Gold to play the beta in any way shape or form? Even single player? I just want to try it, but I don't have a lot of time to play online at the moment and I don't want to buy gold until I do.

Even if it's just battlefield, it's a gorgeous looking game, they nailed the aesthetic.

But I agree, no SP campaign is huge missed opportunity. Too bad it's just a cashgrab, with some real effort this could've been great.

This is a game not for the casual online multiplayer gamer. Although they are trying to make it that way... it just isn't. Some skill required to play.

You heard correct, wasted opportunity given how nice it looks and sounds. I found the Beta fun last night, I'm already getting bored of the same three modes. Unless they add a lot more to the full game, it may not have much to offer long term.

There are multiple maps and multiple game modes to be played. You do realize most content is locked and this is a limited play through beta... right?

By the way the first two games didn't have a campaign either--their single player stuff was just a collection of the levels with a loosely based story.

People crying about the no campaign should read the above.

A single-player mode that lasts like 7 minutes.

And Battlefront 2 had campaigns...

You do realize you are playing a beta that is blocking content right??? It is capped at five waves and other SP content is blocked... because it is a beta. The full survival mode is 15 waves.

Not sure why so many people are saying game is to short, get boring, etc.... It is a beta, not a full free trial for the weekend.

And? Are we to expect an entirely different game on release?

If 6 waves can be done easily in 8 minutes then 15 isn't going to add a whole lot.

It would have been awful just look at the Battlefield games.

You are correct in that the campaigns for Battlefield 3 & 4 were terrible. But that is no reason to simply cut it for this title and not even bother trying. What they should be doing is bringing in better people to do the writing etc and really nail a decent campaign. Instead, we are getting another modern game that tells people they don't want to play alone, well news flash, we do. I generally do play multiplayer, but I still enjoy a good campaign. The Force unleashed is a good example of a very memorable game. Plus, not everybody does want to play online at all. I played the originals online a lot, but some of my best memories are from Galactic conquest.

You seem to crop up everywhere just to call everybody else casual gamers. I still don't understand what you are getting from that? I'm sure somebody is impressed somewhere.. in a galaxy far far away maybe.

Anyway, yes, we are very aware that this is a beta with some modes switched off thank you, I don't think anybody has suggested this is the full game. The things we are complaining about mostly have been confirmed as not being in the full game, so why do we need to wait for that to let them know we aren't impressed? I'm not sure how much you expect to be added, but Walker assault is the only mode they have really been banging on about since the start, and it isn't that good tbh. Sure we'll get a few more maps, but I'm bored of the two we have after two days, so I'm not sure the full game will have longevity on its side. And yes the waves are cut short, but what is a few more waves in a horde mode going to add to the full game really? Horde mode is something you usually see tacked on as a fun little side project, it is no replacement for a proper single player and I doubt many people will be wanting to play it much after a week.

Also, there is no skill needed for this game, I'm not sure what you're talking about there. I've been playing FPS games (casually) for a good 20+ years now, I'm showing my age there. This is quite possibly the least tactical FPS I've ever played in a long time. Spawn (in a terrible place) run around looking for pickups and kill a few other guys, die... Repeat, repeat, repeat. If anything this one is way too casual and aimed more at the younger audience. But is that surprising given EAs stance on games apparently being too difficult these days? errrgh. Having everything as pickups is nonsense, it was much better in the older games where the ships were just placed on the map, it added to the immersion. As for whinging about people asking for a campaign. Well, we aren't all super cool pro gamers like yourself playing in online tournaments all day, some of us hand our hard earned money over to have some "casual" fun and we would like a campaign. Even if you don't need one, you stand to benefit from one being added also so I'm not sure why you care about people asking for one?

I'm most disappointed about the CIS and Republic being stripped out of the game personally, and Galactic conquest/or a campaign. I'll keep being disappointed even when the full game does hit, because save for a miracle, it won't be adding much. Ultimately the game looks good, sounds excellent and plays quite well for the most part, but if it didn't have the Star wars setting tugging at our hearts, would we be impressed? Probably not. It has potential at best, if they add an awful lot more, this could be a superb game I am sure. As it stands, what we know of the full game just seems lazy and bait if anything for future DLC.
