She would not be a Mary Sue if she was the evil daughter of palptines cloned "son' like she was supposed to be. Nope I will never buy a failed clone raised with out love that has Palpatine DNA would every become good and the Son of Solo/Skywalker raised with love and compassion would become bad because his parents neglected him and his uncle luke tried to kill him in his sleep. Only in a Disney fairy taleOr mary a sue...

I'm so glad that the film itself tells such a different story than that idiotically contradictory book that you hold so high.

Her father's existence doesn't make sense otherwise and you have major age issues to deal with. Palps had no son before he was thrown down that shaft, say he used his half **** to shoot some sperm in a cup and they inseminated it into some poor female. He would have been two young to have Rey, Rey could not have been that age at the start of the ST its physically impossible. Her father was born much like boba he was already a teenage or close to it at birth
When did the movie say palpatine had his "son"?
Revisionist History 101:
OT = The Luke Saga
PT+OT = The Anakin Saga
PT+OT+ST = The Palpatine Saga
Well the actor who played Rey's father is 30 years old so if the character he was playing was the same age then we know that he was born 30 years prior to the time of Rey's flashback. Look at that, no head canon or crappy contradictory novels required.

He was born old like all clones again that's how it all makes sense, you do agree that Palps had no kids during the OT right????????????.
The actor's age playing the role has no bearing on the age of the character in the movie.

The real Actor is 30 years Old.. So I can believe he is playing a 37 or 38 year old.
Not fast enough with my above answer for ol Khev
The real Actor is 30 years Old.. So I can believe he is playing a 37 or 38 year old. Should not be an issue for anyone who accepts that Ben is whatever age he is supposed to be from Sith to ANH.
That would have gave Palps time for one of his Throne Room Orgies and for some girl to get knocked up and give birth to a son.
And when did the OT tell us that?
Of course not. Why would it. Clearly every character in every movie whose age isn't openly stated on film just sprang into existence as an adult "clone," lol.
Yup the saga switched from skywalker in the OT to Palpatine in the ST, all the dumb skyalkers did was create a monster then adopt another monster that Palps knew about but didn't bother trying to posses or influence her like he did Ben. It would seem trying to corrupt ben would be a lot riskier course of action then focusing on Rey ( an orphan with no parent love or guidance) and with Rey being a Palpatine an all. He knew she existed which is why he sent that bounty hunter guy with the dagger to kill her parents. Why didn't just start messing with her mind instead of bens and just take her then? why risk going for ben when that could have easily failed, and did fail due to Leia and Luke intervening?. Poorly thought out trilogy makes no sense, he didn't even want ben in the end so what was the point. Again making Rey the bad guy and Ben the good guy would have solved a lot of this without unneccesary explanation or destroying OT characters in the process

Rey's father could have been 30, same as the actor since that scene was a flashback. She was what 5 or 6 in that scene? So if Rey is in her early or mid 20's in TROS and the flashback was from 15-20 years earlier that means Palps' son was sired 20-25 years prior to ROTJ.
