Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Yes messing with the OT was absolutely more unforgivable than any missteps in the ST. I can't believe some of you still watch the SE's when there are fan restored theatrical editions readily available. I will *never* listen to Fett's dorky SE voice ever again.

Yep "I hope they make a Mon Mothma figure!" said no kid in 1983, lol.

However I would go so far as to say that RO is the third "perfect" SW movie as both a film and with regard to toy appeal.

Film wise I will always tie RO with ROTJ as both have super epic and perfect SW elements at an equal %. RO should be honored with my generosity lol

But toy wise I have to still easily give it to ROTJ because of the iconic introduction in the flesh of the emperor and his red guards plus Jabba and a handful of other introductions.

See as a kid I always preferred the Imperial Troops over aliens and while ROTJ gave us the awesome Biker Scouts (my favorite specialist troopers of the OT) RO gave us Death Troopers, Shoretroopers and the Tank Driver. For vehicles I definitely give the nod to Jedi though for introducting A-Wings, B-Wings, TIE Interceptors, Shuttle Tydirium, Desert Skiff, Sail Barge, and Speeder Bikes. That's an insane level of iconic vehicles right there in a Saga that was already full of them! :rock

From a visual standpoint I 100% agree with you but changing Fett’s voice tantamounts to a crime against humanity lol

It’s as offensive sonically as any of the other myriad of visual alterations from the SE

Messing with the OT is much worse than easily ignored ST.

He speaks the truth

I like the Added elements to the Death Star Battle in ANH and that is about it.

Actually the fixing of some of the effects where you can see through the star ships or the "boxes" around the ships in space is a nice upgrade also..

Everything else is an abomination.

I agree with Jye here.. ROTJ had a ton of stuff I wanted.. I love RO and find it to be the 3rd best of the series but there are only a few items I would have wanted as a kid. Jedi was a kids toyland... Which may be part of the problem with the film itself :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Amazing that B-Wings lived on to have much cooler representation on posters and videogames then from the movie itself.

That is one vessel that needs to be given an epic onscreen attack run and I might add that TLJ didn’t use the A-Wings as well as I wanted them to be used especially since that pilot was such a hottie.

Very true and funnily enough I was actually secretly hoping that George would give them a moment or two in the ROTJ SE and was highly disappointed when he didn't.

I was very excited to see the return of the A-Wing in TLJ and was also disappointed that they weren't used more (both the ships and the hot pilot, lol.)

Getting back to B-Wings though one of the reasons I really enjoy the Crait battle is because the Rebel speeders are pretty much just sideways B-Wings so in my mind that was Johnson's way of sneaking them into the movie and giving them their own long overdue attack run.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Why did he even fall over he kicks a vacuum out the way and then just collapses for no reason, lol.

Jye fell down just like Rian Johnson wanted him to...no reasoning needed...just like TLJ

RO remains king of vehicle battles post ROTJ although I also love those TLJ bombers entrance and battle.

The theatrics are all about the views and likes lol

TLJ thread should’ve been a YT video!

I don;t know if you noticed but he is does not seem to be a coordinated athlete.

:lol :lol

The first time I watched it I just skipped to the end but now I just watched a little bit of the middle portion. There are cars driving by the houses in that idyllic neighborhood. Just imagining the looks on the faces of those passing by such a scene in the driveway. I'm picturing home equity taking a 20% drop minimally, lol.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

I think he could’ve had a chance at winning the Spiderman role over Holland, no?

I mean the agility and stamina on display with that lightsaber is quite astonishing.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Yep and that's another reason that I at least *respect* TPM the most of the PT. It is just so unabashedly George's vision, for better and worse, a film that he made without any thought of fan backlash or anyone to appease but himself. I've never doubted for one second that AOTC was in part his attempt to "make up" for TPM, replacing Jar Jar with a Boba Fett clone (literally) and removing all talk of midichlorians and whatnot. Of course the sad irony would play out that the prequel with the most fan friendly elements (Fett, first appearance of adult Anakin, clonetroopers and the beginning of the Clone Wars, tons of Jedi lighting up their sabers, some revealing skin on a hot chick, etc.) was by far the worst overall film.

Yousa point is well said, though I’ve always considered AOTC an improvement over TPM (probably for the reasons listed above :lol)

I think there’s a fair split between folks who prefer Ep I or II.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Even if you despise TLJ you have to watch the blooper reel of Leia smacking Poe just wow.

It was also cool to see Hamill back in the XW cockpit.
