Yeah once one side demonizes the other on a personal level (hello RJ I'm also looking at you) it's almost impossible to come back from that and not just be a slave to the politics of whichever "side" you're on.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

:lol :lol

Why haven't Junkion, JAWS, Wor-Gar, loki, etc., been banned? They don't like TLJ. Oh yeah, they're also normal guys capable of being cool and civil while discussing something that they don't like.

With a name like Loki, you'd think I like to stir up trouble... :lol The god of mischief and lies after all... :)

I've had to defend that name many times. I've used it since the beginning of the internet in the mid 90's. Just cause I like the name, not what it signifies. I was always into Norse & Greek mythology. I even get lumped into being an MCU fanboy because of it. Yet I like many comics and characters.... Marvel, DC, Image, Valiant, many independents when they were booming in the late 80's...

Whatever... :dunno :lol

Well at least Oscorp is back with a new account it seems. jye knows who I'm on about. :lol

Yeah whenever I use a Cap avatar some people right me off as a blind MCU fanboy when I've repeatedly said that I consider Batman Begins and Logan to be 2 of the top 3 cbm's of all time, lol.

Yeah, even if you don't agree with someone's views, it can still make for good reads and debates.

I believe I too know who you are talking about....:wink1:

And I commend their passion... :duff

If it was not a fair representation you would’ve been silenced a long time ago.

Christ you just finished posting a full page of videos fully political driven rebuttal of Kennedy yet here you still are.

So please enough with the “Sideshow is shutting down my dislike of TLJ opinion” because if they were you of all members wouldn’t even be here right now.

Jeezus H Carpenter you Alpha male cats really do whine alot lol

No point putting Vault on ignore. He deletes half his own creepy woman-hating serial killer sounding garbage anyway. :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

There are unreasonable people on both sides, but the level of hate and vitriol for TLJ is something I've never seen before regarding a movie. When it comes to an "unnatural" level of unshakably passionate anger, I don't think there's anything close to equity between the two sides. The hate side is often so closed off from even tolerating an opposing opinion that I've just about given up trying to understand why.

Disliking any movie is perfectly fine, but refusing to acknowledge what other people love about it is just . . . weird.

Uhm you have never been around this forum or read the internet when DCU movies are released. TLJ is nothing like that. Atleast TLJ was giving a fair shot by the critics, unlike DCEU movies where critics are always on a mission to seek and destroy (except for wonder woman no male critic would dare attack that movie) because they all hate Zack Snyder. Its sort of ironic, people that hate DCEU movies cite critic reviews for how bad they are but ignore the more positive audience review scores because it does not agree with them. The same people that like TLJ will site critical scores to defend how good it is, and ignore the overwhelming negative audience review scores. I actually agree with what you saying here, but i think some of this is hypocritical, not you per say, but the same people defending TLJ from "the hate and vitrol of tlj" were vomiting that same "hate and vitrol against DCEU movies.. Is it not human nature to defend what you love/like and attack what you dislike/hate.

Nah it seemed like if you hated the movie you would get a strong talking to lol. Both sides are to blame. The positive and negative side. It’s just that sadly the negative side came up with these crazy theories that were considered trolling lol. I forgot all about spazz

Please stick to the topic and, per our board's Community Guidelines, take any political talk elsewhere.

''There are heroes on both sides''

Why did George write that? What heroes on the separatist side? Certainly none that I remember seeing in any of the films. Weird line to put in there.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

I think he meant that general grievous and count dukoo were the heroes of the seperatist.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

What if I told you my life has been fully uneffected by Kennedy and Rian attempt at trying to castrate and emasculate me.

What if I told you that I would never rate the PT or ST higher than ANH/ESB.

What if I told you that your lord and savior Lucas chose Kennedy.

What if I told you that Lucas is doing more damage and harm to SW than Kennedy by refusing to release the historic unaltered versions.

What if I reminded you that there is a hardcore right wing populist nationalist christian group in full control of the most powerful nation in the world we’re talking real power here yet you’re having a complete 24/7/365 paranoid fueled meltdown obsession over a silly sci-fi movie with their fake pews pews as if that’s going to affect the world order.

What if I told you that valium is cheap now you should try it lol

Ill take the Red pill for that last one (cheap valium for the win), the blue pill for everything else

Most of the banning was because those members in question continually turned TLJ into a platform for their political/social angst.

Their continued bashing of certain groups of people, thinly veiled as an attack on the film , was the reason folks got themselves banned.

Their continued and persistent attempts to bait people, turn the thread into a social war, and THEN to complain that THEY themselves were somehow the victims when other boardies pushed back...thats the reason the got banned....

Honestly, it turned me away from many threads for a while, because the film was not really being discussed, what was being posted was a moment in the film for one "page" followed by several members diatribe on their political or social agenda.....hell it was pulling me in.....and I aint got time for dat! LOL

I honestly like the boards better now. The differing opinions are respected for the most part, and the dialogue is mostly interesting, thoughtful , and respectful of everyone.

We still do have a member or two whom are clearly here to promote their social agenda......thankfully the ignore button keeps from having to see all the linked propaganda.

I thought some of that was so funny lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

.

The problem I have is that these characters are boring and uninteresting. They have no memorable moments. They have no real bond to me. They feel hollow and just there. They suck imo. They don’t go through any pain or internal struggles . They just seem to be good at everything. Except Finn which is sad cause he seems like some lap dog for REy. Why they choose a black man to dedicate most his time chasing a white woman is beyond me. Idk I just don’t like it. I feel like every criticism is valid. They have a right to express there distaste for a franchise they loved.

I can agree with you to an extent about characters not being interesting enough. My favorites Rey and Kylo Ren. They are both interesting I forgive a lot of the rushed power thing for Rey as thinking of her as a child of the Force that was chosen by the Force because the light basically went away after Luke cut himself off from it. It needed her to get to Luke.
I liked what Johnson did with Poe in TLJ. He needed to get his ass kicked to learn the qualities of being a leader. But both Poe and Finn are pretty uninteresting characters. Finn is a waste with so much potential if they used his Stormtrooper background effectively. Instead he bumbles around from scene to scene as comedic relief.
It's true that the prequels and original all had the main characters I wanted to collect toys from. They are interesting designs and good characters. The new trilogy I only want the older versions of the old cast and Rey and Kylo. That is disappointing so I see your point there.

No set pics of Rey or Kylo yet? Thought JJ was wanting to give more sneaks...
