Is it though? Apathy for the Saga seems to be at an all-time high. Forbes doesn't even think its box office will top the Lion King remake.

I don't intend to make any special effort to go see it when it comes out. Sort of a 'only if someone invites me' thing and if no one does, meh.

Lol I think it’s crazy how no one is talking about it. This will be the film where people welcome spoilers just to see what happens. This saga just isn’t on that hype level. Return of the king , endgame , deathly hallows, mockingjay, hell even ****ing twilight ending had more built up hype then this last movie. What the hell happened? TFA and TLJ had an incredible amount of hype.

This franchise just needs a rest for like 10 yrs.

It does indeed. And Disney is waiting.... 3 years.

Think about it: that's the same length of time we used to wait between chapters within a Star Wars trilogy. So we're basically waiting the same amount of time we would for any old SW sequel in the 80's. Still no down time.

Amen. I like Sci Fi movies.....Star Wars are fun Sci Fi movies.

If people try to make them more than that, disappointment is assured.

Honestly I think SW is just aging out.
Its sorta like people are hanging onto Howdy Doody or Flash Gordon to make a big return.

Its just had its time....and is becoming less and less special to people.

Its just had its time....and is becoming less and less special to people.

Unfortunately, this is the truth -- but I feel this is mostly true for the seemingly endless "Skywalker" storyline.

RO showed new life was possible in this familiar galaxy... and because of that we're getting the only SW story people seem generally excited about: The Mandalorian.

A new direction could save the galaxy far, far away.
