I can't agree. The only reason Rose Tico's act didn't kill both Finn and herself is because Rian Johnson wrote that it didn't. It was an insanely stupid thing to do regardless.

Titanic Rose merely got out of the lifeboat. She couldn't have known for sure how things would play out thereafter. If she had stayed in the lifeboat, who knows, maybe Jack wouldn't have even found that bit of floating wreckage later on. There was a lot of uncertainty in play.

What Rose Tico did should have been certain death, immediately, there and then.

Well, she already knew from her discussions with the ship's designer that there weren't enough lifeboats by half, so getting out of one was certainly not the wisest decision. :lol

As for Rose Tico's ramming maneuver, she probably expected the airbags to deploy...

What I think is crazy is how she did it because her AND Finn should?ve died in her ramming stunt lol

Maybe RJ got inspiration from NHRA drivers walking away after crashes like these. The Rebellion must've used similar engineering. ;)

At first I was like who is she to deny him his suicide mission especially since she could?ve killed him and his death would?ve been wasted because the FO door buster would?ve still been functional.

Pretty selfish of her I thought.

But then they still escaped even with the FO door buster not destroyed.

So whatever.

Look just give me a huge space battle next time ok.

Rumor is that there is a
flashback to KOTOR era with a huge LOTR style battle between Jedi and Sith armies with temples burning everywhere.

I didn't know you were such a Titanic Rose fan.

Perhaps you should be using this new avatar:

Come with me if you want to drink like a First Class girl

I guess Rian Johnson thought that the A-Wing pilot in ROTJ really loved the crew of the Executor, lol.

Love. She couldn't leave him. You jump I jump Buffinator!

The problem would remain though that she did it on purpose and could not have known they would survive it.

...that will probably make the entire Skywalker era look like small potatoes. :slap

BUT... will probably lead perfectly into the Benioff-Weiss trilogy! :yess:

I think if Disney went a completely different route when they bought Lucas' IP... went KOTOR instead of forward with Skywalker tales, they might have done better and it all might have felt more original. Rather than trying to tap into generational nostalgia, they could have truly created their own version of Star Wars that felt less Lucasian, more original -- a whole new galaxy far, far away.

Hind sight, I know...

Sheesh is this forum imploding or something? I can only get in via laptop and not phone

I only ever browse on my laptop anyway but it's still wonky - very slow, database errors all over the shop and question marks instead of apostrophes.

And who?s to blame?

The PT.

Lucas tried a completely different route with almost zero nostalgia and BOOM!

So Disney going the familiar route only made sense hence TFA over 2 billion box office.

AOTC didn?t even make it to 650 million.

While I loathe AOTC (and 100% agree on the drowning in nostalgia Disney is indulging in), you can't fairly compare a movie from the early 2000s to a movie released in the current market.

Adjusted for inflation AOTC made over a billion, but even that doesn't take into account the major differences between then and now - among other things several huge film markets today didn't really exist back then, and TFA had an extra 1000 screens over AOTC.

I seriously doubt a new SW trilogy that had so little connection to the OT could have resonated with wider audiences, as much as I would love to have seen them try it. If everything since the OT has proven something, it's that the OT was an incredibly unique and special creation.

Sorry Tali I ain?t buying your excuse.

Titanic came out 5 years before AOTC and it made 1.9 billion on just its initial release.

Markets Shmarkets lol

Just tired of all the ST nostalgia blame going on Disney when clearly if should be focussed on the massive failure of GL and his yes men.

And Gone With The Wind made 1.8 billion adjusted without China, the internet, television ads, soda and popcorn and before modern India and Russia were even invented.:dunno:lol

Meh to that rumour.

Oh look at all these disposable CGI Jedi and Sith batting eachother with their glowsticks. Pre-PT that might have been exciting but not now
