Khev, Rush, Junkion and any other TLJ fan go to the Leia scene right before the missles hit her ship I just noticed for the first time that her body language and facial expression are expertly acted by Carrie to show that she’s fully aware of the imminent missle strike and quickly connects with the force for protection.

Very nuanced performance that I hadn’t noticed until now.

God I love Carrie Fisher.

I also noticed that while Chewie was trying to eat the cooked bird and getting a visit from the porgs that Luke in the background takes the opportunity to sneak onto the Falcon.

Now I wonder if Luke was the one behind keeping Chewie preoccupied so that he wasn’t bothered while in the Falcon.

Artoo playing Leia’s ANH message was a great tribute to her.

I remember Laura Dern having a nice body. But in this movie females aren't supposed to be attractive. Moving on.

Here we see Jake Skywalker, the cowardly sociopath. It's not even that Luke wouldn't do this. No one who's capable of feeling empathy would do it either. It especially wouldn't be his first reaction to seeing Ben Solo's evil thoughts.

On point video. The only valid reason for this scenario to ever occur would be if your nephew was RJ. :lol

I will check out the pre-strike moment next time I watch. I had noticed sneaky Luke on a previous viewing.

It really is bittersweet seeing the original Leia holo. I remember Abrams saying that RJ only asked one thing of him to adjust for the sake of TLJ. Originally BB-8 was to accompany Rey & Chewie but RJ asked that the droids be switched out because he wanted R2 to play the message for Luke.

I like that this video freeze-frame says NEVER. because that's how often I click whaambulance fan vids. But even amidst the therapy bills and angry flop-sweat it's nice to see that SW is still keeping the kids busy so mom can change the sheets. :yess:

Maybe you’re onto something..

Maybe it did happen? Isn’t this the second movie of his focused on killing some young person for atrocities committed in the future? And in both cases it turned out that very act would set said young person down that dark path?

An idea that’s clearly worked its way into his head..

Aaaannd TLJ becomes lazy on yet another level for cribbing from his own work :lol

Yes, for any of TFA/TLJ's faults each film will always have the honor of showcasing the Saga's best acting performances of Ford, Hamill, and Fisher (until Luke's ghost appears in Episode IX anyway.) Hamill and Fisher were off the charts good in TLJ. Interesting catch about Fisher's expression, it didn't actually occur to me that she preemptively braced herself from the vacuum of space with the Force.

On a semi-related note it wasn't until watching it at home that I noticed that Ackbar actually does not die off camera. You can actually see him blow up behind Leia before she gets pulled out into space.

Back to Leia, I think her perfectly delivered "May the For--you say it, I've said it enough," was a fitting indicator that her part in the Saga was coming to an end. That line really said it all.

Now that's interesting. Didn't notice him back there.

I think I like Raddus better now anyway. After all, he can call in the Hammerhead Corvette.

Heck yeah. And that's cool if Leia's cruiser in TLJ was named after him.

And looking at that HT checklist in the SW figure section they really need to start making some aliens and droids. Pretty much every movie is just main hero/villain and troopers, main hero/villain and troopers. So much of what makes SW great are all the iconic side characters.

For a split second it had to smell delicious on the deck.

I’m not buying this Meryl Streep bs because I can’t imagine a more fortuitous lead-in to Leia’s offscreen death than having her pass the torch to Poe.

Please don’t Sopranos this with some awkward, tacked on scene for the sake of “on-screen.”

If there is a time-jump, all you need is a line from Poe about “Leia would have said...” to acknowledge her passing. It could really add gravitas to the movie.

Out of focus and in the background FTW.:yess:

Leia must have gone into Jedi meditation mode before impact, as taking a deep breath would have made her lungs explode.

Shame she never became a fully fledged Jedi - one of the missed opportunities of the ST.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

I never for a second thought Leia of the OT would want to become a magical religous zealot. Especially after seeing what it did to her biological family.
