looks cool, could barely hear it tho

This was a really fun panel, with some amusing questions from several kids during the Q&A. The game footage got me pretty excited to pick this up in October.

audio's fine here

My anticipation for this game has certailny risen substantially but still, because the first was my biggest letdown, I'm gonna try not to get too excited just in case.

The Force Unleashed II Is A Super Hero Game... Kind Of
Written Friday, July 23, 2010 By Dan Webb

"With the Force Unleashed franchise as a whole, we really are trying to make super hero games in many ways" says Senior Executive Producer, Haden Blackman, in a recent dev diary from LucasArts for The Force Unleashed II.

"We have this big, over-the-top action," he continues, "giant set-pieces, but then we have these characters that are very mythic and very flawed."

Ah ha, and there you were thinking that Starkiller was going to whip on the spandex and go to work as a dim-witted reporter for the Tatooine Times. Nu-uh! Blackman is just talking about where they're taking The Force Unleashed franchise this October.

The rest of the dev diary talks about a lot of what we saw behind-closed-doors at this year's E3, so if Blackman's wonderful words of wisdom don't satisfy your needs, then check our wonderful words of wit.

Yoda's voice is in the trailer, so if he goes to Dagoba(sp) that would be AWESOME :rock

becoming a little depumped on all the mech stuff... i mean, bad enough they mess with the story's continuity, but having to create terminator / separatist hybrids in order to make the game play work has me wondering if this whole thing is straying too far from the Star Wars we all love...

Haden Blackman (creator and Exec Producer of the TFU franchise) has resigned from LucasArts.

Man they are in disarray over there. They've also had 3 different Presidents in the past 2 years.

I say that's what they get for rushing KOTOR II then neglecting KOTOR III, BATTLEFRONT III and the next-gen INDY game. :lecture

I don't think they forgot KOTOR 3, SWTOR was pretty much KOTOR 3.

But yeah, they've pretty much screwed up Battlefront 3 (and 4) and Indy

They spent too much time creating gimick programming (Euphoria and DMM) that wasn't really necessary

TOR isn't KOTOR III. It's "Old Republic" and BioWare, sure... but it's a completely different story with different characters in a different timeframe. We want more of the stories of Revan and The Exile.

love KOTOR... love BATTLEFRONT... let's not forget REPUBLIC COMMANDO...

it's ironic... one can buy a Star Wars sleeping bag, or a Star Wars oven mitt... or Star Wars book ends... but the things we have been LITERALLY crying out for fall by the way side.

and by the way... why all of the "exclusive" BS with this title? why put demands on the consumer in this way? i used to think that downloadable extra content was the future, but as an update... not at the initial sale. it's becoming like buying a car... what options for this game would you like? extra levels? extra characters?

many developers are exploiting what should be an exciting addition and reducing it to a confusing hassle.

Exclusive Maulkiller pack, available through pre-order from GameStop:

* Exclusive Character: Maulkiller - In the cloning facilities of Kamino, Darth Vader created a warrior of unparalleled strength and power by combining the genetic material of Darth Maul, former apprentice of Sith Lord Darth Sidious, with his own apprentice, Starkiller. The resulting aberrant clone possessed traits from both warriors, but the crude fusion of two disparate Force users quickly produced physical and mental instabilities that led to the unfortunate clones destruction. For a brief time he struck fear into the hearts of all who faced him, even Lord Vader himself.
* Exclusive Maulkiller Silver Saber Crystal The perfect compliment to Maulkiller's appearance, the silver crystal make his dual lightsabers look like an extension of the silver Zabrac styled tattoos that cover his body and face. This powerful crystal allows Maulkiller to consume less Force Energy so he can devastate his enemies.

Two Exclusive Challenge Levels, available through pre-order from Amazon

* Exclusive Challenge: The Mystical Swamps of Dagobah - Explore the mystical swamps of Dagobah in this exclusive challenge. The setting for this challenge is an abstract version of the Dagobah level in the game. Yoda is testing your skills with this dreamlike space. Use Force Grip to lift objects out of the swampy depths of the surface of Dagobah and use them to navigate to your goal. The faster you can do this the more your rewards will be. Beware! Danger lurks just below the smoky surface of the water. The stone pillars you Force Grip and lift out of the murky waters arent stable and can collapse at any time, the water is toxic too wait too long on a platform and suffer the consequences.
* Exclusive Challenge: Defend "The Core" - Defend "The Core" by using all your Force Powers and expertise with the lightsaber for as long as you can. Survive for more than 1 minute to complete the challenge. Mastering this challenge could take much longer. Score bonuses are awarded for surviving for longer and killing enemies with impunity.

we all know that this will be available soon enough for everyone through a download... and at a cost...

i am beginning to miss the days when buying a game meant getting the WHOLE game.
