In the meantime, lets keep having fun, cause the TLJ is just a bad MOVIE... :)

Just sayin' I don't think it's a bad movie. Plenty of good, even great stuff. I don't go re-see IMO bad movies. I sulk about the the wasted money and hours of my life gone from a first viewing.

IMO there's stuff that could have been done better in TLJ *shrug*. But I thought especially with Luke, his end? was handled with strength and dignity. Beauty, even, with the very last shots. Also the films are very, very lucky to have Adam Driver - hell of an actor. Agree with the critic who wrote that Kylo is what Anakin should have been.

So there's issues in TLJ. I don't see many movies I'd call a 10/10 myself, across the board, from IMO editing to script to acting to cinematography. And out of that handful they seem to be mostly smaller, lower-budget films. Definitely thought re-seeing TLJ was worth it.

I love how people say the all-time box office list "doesn't count" because there are "crappy" movies on the list but then trumpet low numbers in China or Ecuador as "proof" that the film was a disaster, lol.

Outgrossing The Dark Knight's lifetime earnings: Doesn't matter
Being outgrossed by a rom-com on one weekend in China: THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS

;)

Ah, a fine box office haul, and it is now sitting at a 106% adjusted score on RT. The numbers agree with us, the haters have lost sight of what is true!

Congratulations brother, it has now surpassed transformers: age of extinction, a lofty goal indeed. Let us be mirthful and raise a glass to its success! And though it shall fall short of its predecessor, it is now within shooting distance of that powerhouse fate of the furious, and then - only another 300k to dethrone the franchise masterpiece furious 7 from the number 6 all time spot. Can we make it? Let us all do our part! I shall see you in the cinema! I shall see you in the streets!

And when it is written in the history books and they ask who made the last Jedi a success, let us raise our brooms to the sky and shout with a rallying cry, ‘it was us!

It was the 106%!’

Honestly nothing bores me more than Box Office discussion. So....stop that altogether lads.

As you wish. :monkey3

Yeah I will unfortunately have to disregard a-dev’s request because box office is part of the narrative in all movie threads as it should be since it’s the engine that drives these projects to begin with so why should TLJ be exempt sorry a-dev lol

Which leads me right into this silly irrational petition movement.

Let’s just put aside for a second that this movie has earned more than three times its production and marketing budget let’s just ignore that little fact for now lol

So sure lets bring back the guy who was responsible for SW going to Disney in the first place, the guy who emasculated Han freaking Solo, the guy who gave us Vader NOOOs, the guy who turned SW into the laughing stock of cinema with AOTC.

So Mary Sue is a horrible crime BUT Vader NOOOs, stiff love story, sand, younglings with sabers, Fett’s voice change are all perfectly acceptable now because of why Rey being great at stuff even though Snoke would’ve easily killed her if not for Kylo.

Or is it about Kennedy’s agenda to destroy america? Wasn’t that member here flipping out because Rey was towering over Finn lol.

Isn’t Kennedy Lucas’s/Spielberg’s protege anyways so blame them for giving her a platform for her agenda.

So bring back the guy that gave life to the person you hate real smart thinking there.

How do we even know Lucas isn’t pulling the strings with word leaking that his outlines are still being used and ILM employees saying that Lucas is shown dailies and Gareth gushing over Lucas watching RO.

Lucas is probably blown away by the box office success of TFA/TLJ/RO and critics/cinemascores for them after thinking he destroyed the brand with his monstrosity’s.

Some of you better brace yourselves for when Lucas gets old and just says whatever he wants he just might come out and say to the Kennedy haters, “Go screw yourselves I don’t even want you to like the OT go watch the holiday specials I created that for you!” lol

Oh man these BO debates really make me sweat, hope my BO isn't too bad today...

Quick Zach, fast car and titties or The Falcon and green tit juice?

Decide.... Decide...

VehicleIdenticationNumber Diesel with his ****ing hot dog neck or Luke Gottdayum Skywalker with his crusty sour beard?

**** that's hard....

I'm gonna say....

No kidding. People talk like its supposed to mean something. They talk like they have some stake in it (actually I own Disney stock so I guess I DO have a stake in it in a way) and I couldn't care less about foreign gross or how far its dropped money wise in a week.

Avatar #1 in money = Total garbage of a movie. End of story.

I liked TLJ and I will buy it on Blu-Ray and enjoy it again and again.

This pretty much sums it up. If you love the movie then love it! But box office means squat, unless you think avatar is the #1 film of all time or that furious 7 is the 6th best film of all time.

But it's boooriinnnnggggg-gg!

Kylo is pretty much the reason why this film was so well reviewed by me, his story is genuinely cool and interesting.

Nope! 600 million+ means it's a good movie and one of the greats! :lol

Well, don't think "it means squat" in the sense that Rian Johnson was slated to do 3 more SW films (separate from ongoing series). Also all the license revenue etc.

E.g. the money is gonna fuel what we see, or don't see, in the future, at least to a degree. Especially in the face of bombs like Valerian that actually affected European stock markets.

I still don't understand that 106.601% score???? :dunno

How is that possible. Isn't 100% the highest it can achieve? Were there bonus questions? Are they talking about the effort fans are putting in to convince those that didn't like the TLJ that it is actually a good movie :)yuck)... Can someone please help me understand (I'm too lazy to bother reading it, since I don't like TLJ)?

Agree. For me it was Kylo and Luke e.g. performances by Driver and Hamill. Although I thought all the actors did a good job, but those were the standouts.

Kylo to me is interesting as Driver has the range to pull off believable ruthlessness, conflict, vulnerability. And the hate/hate dysfunctional dynamics between Kylo and Hux are interesting too at this point. Gleeson is nailing Hux as a character IMO.

Great new for the lovers :

Via Thedigitalbits.com:

And file this in The Rumor Mill, but a number of our retail sources have checked in with word that the tentative street date for Disney’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD is 3/27

I never thought of that but its 100% spot on... just flip the good and dark sides.

Yep I consider Kylo/Ben to be the unofficial representation of what young Anakin should have been. He is even cool both in and out of the mask (compared to Hayden who was lame whether he wore the suit or not.)

I saw that but I'm sure it'll hit blu-ray in April like TFA and RO. Unless they're moving the date up on account of Solo's theatrical release.
