Everyone laughed at the prequels, fans and non-fans alike. The only people crying about TLJ is the extreme alt.fan "not muh Skywalker" contingent and the views of one small portion of the fanbase will hardly be accepted as an all-encompassing consensus going forward.

That's seriously not true.

Again with the insulting of whole swathes of people just because they don’t agree with you. Crows made all his points without insulting anyone in that post you replied to.

Ask my Asian Wife, she'll agree.

I’m sure you’ll find Star Wars fans who agree with autumn thunder too. Doesn’t make it right, what you said is still hypocritical.

I also have an Asian wife and while she may agree to an extent neither she nor I would say it in such a way, as they are just different cultures with different preferences. Plus us Americans with Justin bieber topping the sales chart and McDonald’s being the most popular place to eat would also seem stupid if you boil it down that far.

It's simply not accurate to characterize the crowd of fans who hate TLJ as a small minority. The downright strange statistics of Rotten Tomatoes proves this. And these are the folks who have in large part kept the franchise viable for four decades. How much damage will this do to the franchise long term? Have to wait to see.

history does repeat itself. it truly is like pottery
these guys sound just like khevirino lol

TLJ isn’t the “LUCAS RAPED MY CHILDHOOD” you’re looking for, move along.

Yeah I mean I guess at worst TLJ might be looked at as another "Iron Man 3." A critically acclaimed event film that earned gobs of cash while putting off *some* fans with the way it dared to handle the Mandarin and the empty suits. But otherwise IM3 is hardly a laughing stock that "damaged the MCU brand" or anything. If TLJ had utterly bombed out in the US and the rest of the world the way it did in China then I could see a more mainstream narrative of "what went wrong" taking root where it is elevated as this universal disaster (like the recent Justice League) but obviously nothing close to that actually happened.

They read the script.

They took the job.

They took the money.

And the majority of viewers are happy with the result.

:dunno

Sounds like your describing justice league which has way higjer gp scores then TLJ. 77% RT score for JL and only 49% for TLJ. Ya **** critics getting paid by disney, their ****ing reviews are biased advertising. I wonder how much better justice league would have done at the box office if it wasnt a witch hunt by critics to destroy a disney competetor.

Had critics not been advertising for disney and reviewed it objectively this box office would have been much worst. The critics padded this movie with rave reviews.

Well isn't this headline something. 'Last Jedi' Sets New Global Record With 94% Friday-To-Friday Box Office Plunge In China

Bvs made a ton of money, despite critics, look how that turned out for the follow up justice league. Episode 9 will have the worst box office of any star wars movie to date. Tlj did its damage but it wont show in the box office until the next film when everyone has already given up on the franchise after watching the last **** show
