You laugh, but if that actually happened you know there would be people here who would accept it and think it was the most epic thing ever.

Exactly. The apologists would rave about it. "Incredible. Such risks taken and such great contributions to the canon."

This movie could have featured a scene where Luke tells Rey The Force is a parasite that lives inside your body, which can be physically removed using a special tool from the Old Republic and actually shows her the parasite he removed from his, years ago, which he now has trapped inside a jar - and the apologists on here would completely buy into it. "That's Star Wars. Its what it was all leading up to. Of course its a parasite. Its an allegory for religion and how you can remove it from your day to day and live a happier life."

This just occurred to me. Why wasn't it Mon Momtha? She wasn't that much older than the gang. She might have still been alive. Been a nice familiar face.

Better than bringing in the Star Wars version of Effie from Hunger Games.

Since she was a young adult in the Clone Wars, that would place her in the 80 to 90 bracket for TFA.

"I came here to die. It's time for the Jedi to end."

Rey finds Luke in his Jedi robe, standing on the edge of a cliff. The visual dictionary says he "now only wears this robe to undertake one final Jedi rite".

He's been on the island for many years, it's not like he was killing himself, he just meant he came there to live out his last days.

As for the visual dictionary, I can't comment on that. Anything that isn't in the films (for me) is just erroneous expanded universe fluff.

I keep thinking to myself that so many Freaks that I like enjoyed this movie... that maybe I missed something? Maybe its my fault? Maybe I should go back and see the movie again...?

Don't do it to yourself.

Would have been a fitting end for her character, made sense why she would be willing to kamikaze the ship, and play into the theme of old things dying. Focuses the plot a bit too. Might have worked.

How come Obi-Wan, Anakin and Yoda didn't talk to Luke before Luke went into Kylo's hut to kill him? You know, try and talk some sense into him or give him counsel or something.

How come Anakin never talked to Luke in his time of need, or Kylo Ren for that matter? Kylo worshipped Vader, wouldn't it make sense for someone to tell him that Anakin was in the wrong and that Luke redeemed him? Why doesn't Anakin talk to him?

Why did just Yoda go to Luke? Also, if Yoda can set a tree on fire from lightning with the snap of his fingers, why couldn't Obi-Wan have intervened and helped Luke on Bespin? Why didn't Yoda and Obi-Wan help him with the Emperor?

How come Yoda was acting like his crazy, hermit act from Empire Strikes Back in the Last Jedi? You know, the little show he puts on for Luke before it's revealed to Luke that he's actually the stoic, wise Jedi Master? Why was he putting on the act when Luke A.) knows who he is B.) he wasn't crazy

Why do force ghosts appear at random times to give exposition? Does anyone really want to see Luke as a cheap *** force ghost?

I hate TLJ, but in regards to Luke and kylo, I thought that part was ok.

It could be Luke sensed kylo was turning to the dark side and decided to kill him. Or, luke was the one turning evil and temporarily lost his mind, which pushed kylo away, though that doesn't explain why he sided with snoke, so that's a problem. I like the idea that Luke felt he himself was turning to the darkside, because then his self imposed exile would make sense to save the galaxy.

I don't think Luke can dictate when a force ghost contacts him, repeatedly, they say it's your destiny. So that seems totally random. So I think it can make sense that obi wan and anakin will just let things play out. Yoda could just be suffering from dementia. Dude is 900+.

I know I didn't hit on all your questions but I don't want to see Luke as a force ghost. I don't even want to see IX.

I could list my problems TLJ, but it would take hours. The Luke scenes...except for the"milk" part were ok for me.
