Extract the venom/symbiot aspects from Spider-Man 3, and the Sandman arc is a solid story.
Except Extreme Snowboarder Goblin, daytime soap amnesia, retconning the first movie away, MJ being all miserable. Venom was just one of a few things wrong with the film

Would X-Gamer Goblin even have been needed in the end? I always felt that was another bi-product of Venom with Spidey being overwhelmed by the caliber of villains he had to deal with.
I'd say so, afterall it seems the theme of Raimi's attempts were centered around Harry's descent in villainhood
Sandman was an incredibly boring character, sure taking away venom and goblin from that movie would have made it less cluttered but we still would have been left with a verrrrry dull villain.
I'm not a spidey comic reader but after watching all of the spectacular spiderman animated series I wish the movie Sandman were more like sandman from the cartoon.
Actually I think tobey wanted sandman. If done correctly sandman would be a good side villain and not a main villain .
O I like him to but he couldn't hold a movie by himself maybe if they tweaked his story.

I liked the Sandman too. Just wish they hadn't retconned the story to involve him. There was no need for that. -.-Sandman was cool. And they had a great actor playing the role. I enjoyed every moment Tom was on screen.
I hated the ending, because by that point I was so sick of ****ing crying, I wanted that building to crumble.
When Sandman floated away, I understood there could've been emotion here. Had the studio allowed the story to be what it was.
