Actually I think tobey wanted sandman. If done correctly sandman would be a good side villain and not a main villain .

Agreed.

Sandman was an incredibly boring character, sure taking away venom and goblin from that movie would have made it less cluttered but we still would have been left with a verrrrry dull villain.
I'm not a spidey comic reader but after watching all of the spectacular spiderman animated series I wish the movie Sandman were more like sandman from the cartoon.

:goodpost:
Sandman alone in the movie would have made for an extremely boring movie, especially the extremely emo version of him (we got enuff of that from Pete). The acting was good and the effects pretty well done but the character just couldn't carry the whole movie even with more encounters. It was just definitely too cluttered as a whole but that would have left it boring.

It would have evolved from a Spidey flick into a soap opera. jmo.

I liked the Sandman too. Just wish they hadn't retconned the story to involve him. There was no need for that. -.-

Venom and the completely scrapped, awesome Symbiote Spidey suit hit home the worst though. Although, I'm pretty sure Raimi's heart wasn't in any of it, and that's why it ultimately failed and hindered the overall film.

Well put. Forcing everything to fit ultimately hurt the film and you could tell Raimi wasn't into it either. The degree of a directors passion for the material can definitely strongly impact the film. Venom and Sandman were just a bad fit especially how they were portrayed.

Sandman was so underutilized...you have a great actor playing him and he's barely used...I was really disappointed about that...I felt too much was being crammed down our throats in pt.3 with the Venom story line. They could have fleshed out an awesome story for Sandman and left pt.4 open for an all out assault with Venom.

Also on a side note if I remember correctly Tobey is Spiderman for about 19 minutes of screen time which to me isn't a whole lot.

But we have. He was just dressed as Green Goblin with a better plot. :lol

Yea yea whatever you say. Better plot this and that. Whatever. It was still a good movie and didn't disappoint . The origin was a bother but it still was good but you might not agree, you might say it just sucked right ? Like they say in the infamous re thread turn off your brain and enjoy the movie.

The only difference being, this reboot was essentially worthless. If the RE franchise rebooted, and it was basically a lamer version of the first RE but with better CG, I'd be the first to admit it. :huh :lol

I don't think this sucked. I just think they had an opportunity to do something new and instead they just spent a lot of time repeating things already done well by Raimi. It didn't do enough to distinguish itself, in my opinion. Not a bad movie, just kind of something they released rather than let the character go back to Marvel. But it definitely wasn't on the level of Batman Begins as far as franchise reboots go.

Well that franchise needs one hell of a reboot even more than spiderman needed one.

RE died in 2004 with the outbreak games. The films shouldve never been made from the start.

The only way to reboot any form of RE franchise is to just burry it to the ground and forget it existed.

but then milla would be out of a job. The world still needs her.:)

5 years... hows that not enough time to allow for a reboot... they are already talking about a batman reboot due out in 2016.
