Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I always found it kind of weird how people try to avoid spoilers like its the plague... specially since I LOVE THEM. Spoilers just don't ruin the movie for me, they make me more excited to go see it. There were a few times where I even went to www.themoviespoiler.com before going to the theater to watch a movie. Sometimes I just sit there waiting for it to start and read the spoilers on my phone. My gf thinks I'm crazy.

Because it can lessen the impact of certain things. You only have one first viewing.

I always found it kind of weird how people want to know everything that happens in a movie before they see it. ;)

For me it makes no difference if whether I read (about) it, or see it. They're both separate entities in my mind. Best way to describe it is seeing a movie adapted from a book. Just because I read (about) it already, doesn't mean I can't enjoy the flick.

Really, in my eyes there's only ONE real plot spoiler floating around. Other than that it all adds to the hype for me... There's not many things being said that hasn't been alluded to or I couldn't have put together from clips or trailers or released stills...

A surprise is a surprise regardless of how you go about it. Either I find out now, or later. That's they way my mind rationalizes it anyways. lol

Re: I just watched the Avengers movie.

Yeah I watched it also yesterday in Orlando. Just unbelievable. I was in awe the whole time. You guys will NOT be dissapointed. If you are, stop following Marvel

:exactly:

Couldn't agree more. If I know it's coming, it isn't going to have a wow affect on me. And I want to say WOW.

Re: I just watched the Avengers movie.

not really, but there's heaps of shadows when you see him and you only get to see him for a second. I think they did a pretty good job with him.

If you saw his costume, how are the colors?is it blue and golden,or is he surrounded by shadows? Also is his skin blue?Anyway does he look like his comic counterpart?

Definitely, if I could go back, I wish I wouldn't have read spoilers to TDK.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

So now the rumors of a Guardians of the Galaxy movie makes sense. Not a team I would have chosen but at least I am now starting to see Marvels big picture.

It's not about being able to enjoy it if you already know what happens. I still enjoy movies I've already watched plenty of times or books I've read more than once.

It seems like you actually do not want to be surprised. You are learning the film's secrets beforehand. So it's really not going to be much of a surprise when you view it in the context it was created for.

Which is what I meant by only having one first viewing. You only have that one chance to go in to the film without knowing anything or at least anything major. To truly experience that feeling of 'surprise'.

There's a reason why we have spoiler tags. To respect those that do not want to know every detail about a film/novel/game/whatever before they view it.

I'm not trying to say what you do is wrong. We all have our reasons and no one is any better than the other. It's your personal preference.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I think you guys are being to quick to discredit the magic in reading something and then seeing it perfectly executed on the big screen. :huh

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

A surprise to me is still a surprise regardless. I'm not denying seeing it and reading/hearing about are equal to each other, but it doesn't hinder my enjoyment at all. The bad *** parts are still going to be bad *** when I see them. If anything I'll just anticipate things even MORE.

But then again I'm the kid who at one time snuck presents from under the tree, ran into the bathroom and carefully unwrapped them, taped them back up and snuck it back before anyone noticed it. That should tell you something about me. lol

And I was by no means hinting at the fact that we should be all willy nilly in posting spoilers. I still like my gifts wrapped, I just open them early.
