Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Do you guys think it will enter the $1 Billion club?

Yeah, I do. Its gonna be big as it will have staying power. I'm seeing it again for the second time saturday and with how good it was will probably see it a third time before it leaves. Lots of people will be doing this and that just rakes in the $$.

Well that is just super. Joss deserves it.

He gets a tip of the cap from me. He was able to pull it off and showed he is more than just a buffy, angel, etc guy.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I LOVED when
Hulk started to throw Loki around. I was laughing so hard. I did feel bad at one point because I really like Loki (even if I shouldn't) but that part was just too funny to not laugh.

Yeah, the whole theater laughed and clapped during that part.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Loki...

I liked Loki up until he killed Coulson. After that? I wanted to see him get ripped to shreds, and exploded into a thousand pieces. When Hulk smashed the ____ out of him, that was the greatest thing I've ever seen.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Sony just lost 6.5 billion dollars. They should let Marvel use the character again for a piece of the profits.

Rumors are they may just sell the character back to Marvel Studios to try and stop the bleeding and are waiting for the box office totals of The Amazing Spider-Man to gauge a price for it.

I think it's got the best chance of any of the Marvel films at all. Most of the theaters around me are all sold out.

The genius of it all is the way hulk did, he didnt just grab him for the audience to see, instead he pulled him from under like a carpet. So the audience didnt see anything just loki disappeared then all of sudden loki was getting dusted like an old carpet..so funny

But my favorite is when he punched thor after they beat that snake thing side by side, it's a classic that pays homage to the japanese comics/anime.

And also when capt was giving out the plans, and to hulk just said "SMASH!"

soo many little nuggets in there, only whedon could pulled something like this off..

We've all witnessed some classic cinema moments right there.:rock

I hope so.

Nobody wants a Fantastic Four reboot and the reaction to the new Spidey is meh. You also have Ghost Rider, Daredevil, Punisher, and a bunch of other characters that need to return home.

Fox managed to make a decent XMen film again so that one won't be available any time soon.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I've been on a high all day thinking about just seeing this movie all over again but am really sad about
Philip Coulson dying

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

^ Reminds me of the other best line in the movie.

"You pissed someone else off too. And his name is Phil." WHAM

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Not according to this article at boxoffice mojo.

YIKES :horror:
On a related note, The Avengers passed $300 million overseas yesterday (its ninth day in theaters). With Russia and China opening with the U.S. this weekend, it's entirely possible that The Avengers's worldwide (domestic plus foreign) total approaches $600 million by Sunday.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Good. Deserves it. It's a superhero flick that delivers.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I cannot stop thinking about all the little moments throughout this film. Has it been said yet, will Joss be involved with Avengers 2? I hope so.

Can't think of a single person who didn't. It's just too funny.

I'd really like to know what you thought during the

"I'm always angry." until the 360 of the team.
scene.

Come to think of it: I just HATE when people talk in the theatre, but this movie is so much more with the reactions of the other viewers. I enjoyed the movie a whole lot less with a near silent audience then I did at the fan screening and midnight premiere where people cheered, laughed and didn't hold back on their comments during the screening.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I really think it was a BIG mistake to show Hulk catching Iron Man in the trailer. Just think how amazing that moment would have been in the film if you didn't know it was coming.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Saw it last night at a midnite showing. The theater had 14 midnite showings and all were sold out.

Another favorite line from the movie that is easy to miss because of laughter: PUNY GOD!!!

And this is THE movie Hulk I've been waiting for. Ruffalo played a great Banner, but the look of this Hulk was perfect.:yess:
