Actually...it is a fairly well known fact that Aliens who try to invade Earth are commonly thwarted by Earth's atmosphere...it has been happening since "War of the Worlds" way back in the 30s.

Not even Marvel wikia can explain why those Aliens died when the mothership exploded.

Most of them where killed when Iron Man nuked their main ship, having an apparent vital connection with it. Apparently, they have no morphing abilities

Movie was awesome.

To the snobs who mock disdainfully that the comic book characters originally made for children, have not achieved Shakespearean elevation and that it was lacking on a higher cinematic level, I contend they likely find flaws in orgasms as well yet understand that such base organic functions suffice for the common people.
