Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

It may not be true, Leviathan may have been code for the Alien mothership or something else considered "huge". Interesting to see what Whedon comes up with.

Exactly! It could be code word for those Hydra robot battle ship thingies

I'm glad you took time out of your day to post that :D

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

...though the alien invasion angle has been done to death in movies.
Atlantean's and Namor would open up the marvel universe significantly if they do it, might be too ambitious for Whedon and his budget.
But the pay off would be huge for Marvel and the franchises.

Really? I think Skrull/Kree would open it up more

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

My 2 cent about Cap looking thin, royal blue is a crappy color and makes you look smaller. I've seen some really big guys put on a blue shirt and they look 20lbs lighter. I'm glad to see the suit looks darker on film than it does in stills.

Believe you me, I'm waiting for the movie before I pass final judgement especially since many of us fans have learned their lessons with how good Thor and Cap came out even though it was the norm to trash talk those movies up until release (some would still argue it was justified and maybe they're a little right).

But he looks freaking skinny and it ain't the blue :lol

Like the senator said in the Cap movie, "Someone get that man a sandwich!" :rotfl

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

He looks considerably larger and thicker than Renner here. His triceps don't respond very well but that color isn't helping him.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I think he'll look just fine on film. Bear in mind it's a comic book character so he's going to look a bit odd in the cold light of day. Im more concerned about how ugly looking hawkeye looks. Reminds me of Shrek.
As for his size. You'll never see accurate comic book proportioned live actors playing these roles. They just don't exist in real life. Gonna have to get used to the fact Cap A or Thor isn't a Hulk, Wolverine is 6' tall and doesn't wear yellow spandex, Supes doesn't wear red undies etc etc...
Still super pumped for this film. More so that TDKR

Yeah, holy crap he does look much better here.

See, that's why I didn't pass final judgement :lol

This movie is going to kick ass, dream come true for many comic book fans including me.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

The Helmet is a tad to thick and high... Also if the ears weren't covered It would have looked loads better - Like in all the concept art.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I saw Evans up close at comic-con. I don't think I'd walk up to him and call him skinny. :lol

He may not be skinny but he should have gotten jacked like Hemsworth did for Thor and Jackman did for Wolverine. instead, he got really cut and only a bit bigger

The implication of Namor and the Atlanteans has alot more clout. If they were to use skrulls/kree, it would be expansive as well. However with Namor you have a major marvel character debuting for the first time in the franchise. Also it would stay true to the comics. However Leviathan could be a code name, or a mythological deity from Thor's universe, I dunno. Just Namor has alot more fanboy appeal than skrulls/kree, simply because a live action movie Namor is unheard of.
