Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

He may not be skinny but he should have gotten jacked like Hemsworth did for Thor and Jackman did for Wolverine. instead, he got really cut and only a bit bigger

He looked like he was pretty ripped in person.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

The implication of Namor and the Atlanteans has alot more clout. If they were to use skrulls/kree, it would be expansive as well. However with Namor you have a major marvel character debuting for the first time in the franchise. Also it would stay true to the comics. However Leviathan could be a code name, or a mythological deity from Thor's universe, I dunno. Just Namor has alot more fanboy appeal than skrulls/kree, simply because a live action movie Namor is unheard of.

I agree. However, what I was commenting on was that someone said Namor would open up the marvel universe a lot. I was saying that Skrulls/Kree would open it up more, not that Skrull/Kree would be more popular or cost effective

Well when you see Hemsworth in regular clothes you can see how big he got, even since Thor came out. When you see Evans in plain clothes on the set, he just seems like a fit guy.

Like JYE said though, I'll reserve judgment until the movie comes out. Set pictures taken by outsiders instead of film cameras arent showing us what we'll actually see on film.

And, honestly...I dont care if Cap/Evans looks terrible. Just the fact that we finally got an Avengers movie is enough for me, especially since Thor looks killer, Iron Man always looks badass, and Hulk will, most likely, be the best screen Hulk so far. Regardless of what happens, its a win-win scenario for me! :D

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

That was an instant save to favorites!

:lol :rock

I saw Evans up close at comic-con. I don't think I'd walk up to him and call him skinny.

If you did, Evans might shove a sandwich down your throat! :panic:

You will have to stop collecting soon because your Sig will soon be running out of space :lol

:lol :lol

id rather break the interwebz with a gigantic sig than stop collecting :D

:rock :rock :yess:

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Evans physique looks fine. The suit isn't really helping much but I don't see a problem with it. I don't need my Superheroes Liefeldesque. Thor is a GOD, he would obviously be bigger than any human. Even Jackman had he not been running around in wifebeaters and in any kind of costume especially the X-Men film uniform would look just like Evans does here.

Keaton was a bad ass Batman and he was only what...4 foot tall, maybe 3 1/2 :lecture

I think it's hilarious that the pollsters think it'll be this guy:

There was an Easter Egg in Iron Man 2 of Granov's design for the character on a billboard when he flew past it:

Although I have my doubts. Fin Fang Foom would bring a lot of backstory that they don't have. As for CGI, that is a no brainer, there are scenes that we've seen in this shooting that show green screens all over the place.

I would love to see Thor and Hulk take on a dragon or a Cloverfield type creature.
The only thing that leads me to believe Skrulls or some shape shifting aliens are in this is the description of Loki being in a transparent holding cell that can be dropped from the helacarrier. I could see Fury thinking they had him locked up, then something arises where he needs to hit the panic button releasing the cage. They go to check out the dropped cage and all they find is a Skrull body.
Whoops, they never had the Asgardian trickster.
Stupid mortals, Loki is tricksies.
