I think it depends... the shipping is not only about distace. will it come on a ship or plane? also on chile we have a lot of taxes when something this big and expensive comes in (aduanas), trustme, I have heard of a lot of REALLY bad experiences ... how much is it? 17%? and you need to pay the delivery to your house (i think it's about $30 for the size for me, from santiago to chillan) sometimes they don't charge it, but when it's expensive, shure they will
any way, hope your shipping and taxes don't goes up to $300

Well, the thing is as following:

- To the FOB value ($470) is necessary to add the shipping cost (which acording to other member it goes from $28 from USA to UK, to $100 from USA to Australia, lets hope the shipping cost from USA to Chile let's no go any much higher than this. The good thing about SSC is they want to support to the overseas costumers, that's why they don't charge what they should on the shipping cost).

So we get the CIF = FOB ($470)+ shipping cost

- To the CIF value, the customs will charge the 26%... that's it, 26% , that's the IVA taxes applied to the CIF*1.06 (6% customs internal taxes).

-Besides all that, Fedex will add their own fees.. wich I hope do no exceed the $100.

And that's it

damn IVA. last thime I buy something from usa was aprox 17% (3 years ago I think). a SSC obi wan... and I thought it was expensive
but with your numbers it will cost you less than the $800 from kametoys.

pfff, thats nothing! I have to pay 25% of the items worth and shipping combined. Then there's a postal fee of $50, and then custom fees of $50. Then the shipping to Sweden is $280 from the US. Ending up at around $560 just to ship that mothereffer here...

that's what I'm telling... sometimes the size and the weight adds extracost to the shipping, that can't be calculated before the order.
The local dealel from HT here on chile have the tumbler at aprox $800 (shipping and all inclued, I just need a delivery to my house, that's aprox $30)
My friend here from chile too have ordered direct from SSC, and he's begging that the price is less than the one I pay.
I like to order from the local dealer, sometimes it can be more expensive, (sometimes not) but they have a nice client service, and i'm sure that if anything is wrong with my tumbler, they will replace it at no cost.
from SSC it's very hard they replace something THAT big, or even small, just for the shipping price outside USA.

In looking at the release schedule this looks to be the only thing comming out in August , finally a slow down

So I'm guessing when it comes to ordering HT products from BBTS they don't get their product in for a couple weeks after they hit Sideshow. You know I was also watching some YouTube video reviews of the first version of this and man is the box huge. I am still wondering how the hell am I going to display this thing.

just got my order in through bbts. I only found 2 places that still offer this thing for under retail, didn't want to miss out. Hopefully, in hand pics roll in before I get charged.

Congrats- I have mine through BBTS, too. I'm guessing mid-Sept at earliest when they get their stock in...

well the date still says August for them, but I suppose that would be late August, so your right, prolly won't actually get it until early Sept.

Odd here we are 5 August and no in hand HK pics yet........might be that release will be at near same time both in North America and Asia......otherwise we are pushing it to say Aug...and sometimes I wonder if this will be pushed back to Sept or later the way HT has been going lately..

I was expecting it right at the end of July, but nothing. I've sent out reequests for dates for this but have yet to receive any replies. Hopefully this is only a short delay.

There should already be a Tumbler thread with plenty of inhand pics. I doubt HT did anything new to this except better packaging so the roof doesn't get scuffed again.

basically, I want to see if the packaging and/or the more fragile parts have been improved. I think it looks pretty wicked overall. Anyone know where I can get some of this diamond plating stuff like in this pic?

If you want the real thing, check around with local metal shops. Keep in mind, it's really freaking heavy. There is also diamond plate aluminum. Much lighter and looks really good. Otherwise, there a plenty of faux diamond plate materials. I think Home Depot even has a plastic version as a ceiling/floor tile. Check local hardware stores in general (and of course, Google). You should be able to come up with several different options.

EDIT: There is also this on eBay. I have never seen it in person so I don't know how good/bad it looks.
