Well, it's only a few more days until this is out. Apple Stores should have it this upcoming Saturday, and those who pre-ordered one should receive theirs the same day.

So, who here bought one? Would like to hear an in-hand review from one of you guys if ya do.

A few of my friends are holding out for the 3G version, but I advised against it. Couldn't convince 'em though.

What does it matter if it does or not, as far as I can tell, it's meant to be a multimedia device, not some super, do everything in the world tool. It does music, movies, books, web browsing and photo display.

I'm tempted to get the 3G model and then kill the data plan on my iPhone. I use my phone alot more to surf than make calls anyway.

Don't do it! Do you get emails on your phone? Or use any other web enable apps? If you kill your data plan, be prepared to get a HUGE bill! Stick with the data plan dude, at $30 it's a bargain.

When we were getting my wife's phone, the rep told us about people refusing to get the data plan, they then returned a month later with $1,000+ bills!

Yeah, it is supposed to be a device that fits in between the iphone and the ibook - like you said Sean, it's not supposed to do everything. And seriously, who the heck would want to use the ipad for a phone?!?

I'm not sure why they didn't offer 3G in all the devices though.

I'm going to wait till the 2nd generation ipad comes out and then get one. I'm excited about the iBook technology.
