Sounds like Sideshow has some extras made...JUST IN CASE.

Well...this is one case where they'll need them ALL and then some.

Extras wont matter if they dont learn how to pack them properly. IMO

I just spoke with (name withheld) at Returns as she is handling my damaged item. She said unequivocally that that items with ANY kind of Damage, paint, broken, whatever, will be replaced.

Also, that SSC will inspect each replacement piece and make sure there are no flaws before shipping it back out.

She said even if there is large number of damaged items, they can always get more from the factory if need be. Finally, she said she sits right next to Inthia and hasn't heard her mention those comments all day.

Exactly right. This is what happened with my original X-Men VS Sentinel exclusive. There were no replacements available, and they were waiting for more to come from the factory. Although it took a while and was very frustrating at times I did eventually get a perfect statue (it took a second replacement.) Sideshow customer service reps were always extremely apologetic and exceptionally pleasant to deal with over the phone, actually taking the time to call me at home at one point when there was a delay.

They did the same on my Black Cat. They gave me the same number new statue. I wish sideshow would make a public statement about all the complaints with the Stealth Iron Man. It seems so bad for business when so many people are complaining.

They did the same on my Black Cat. They gave me the same number new statue. I wish sideshow would make a public statement about all the complaints with the Stealth Iron Man. It seems so bad for business when so many people are complaining.

It might be worst for business if they publicly admit it. It's better for them to handle quietly case-by-case. This is a big boo-boo...but it'd take something worst for them to announce it "officially".

Better to quietly handle it and make it go away that way.

On returns, do they destroy the one I send and then send a replacement and give it the same edition number or will I wind up with a higher number now?

If the defective item is not attached to its base (2 or more pieces) - They usually replace the defective item & send back with the same base originally shipped to you OR can send you a different set if the base is also defective...

If the defective item is attached to its base (1 piece) - They'll get a replacement from their inventory of "un-numbered" pieces, write the edition number (copied from your defective piece) & ship as replacement to you.

I would be surprised if they made a statement. When Sideshow shipped out Roger Moore in Oct. of 2006 (edition size 400) Most of the statues were arriving with broken fingers. When people received their replacements they too had broken fingers. The problem was so bad that Sideshow had to go back to the drawing board and start over. They had to make new statues and figure out how to ship him properly.

I received my 1st and 2nd broken Roger Oct '06 and my 3rd one April(ish) of '07.

I do not recall Sideshow making a public announcement on this major problem. (although the edition size was smaller)

No need for a public announcement as long as those who ordered the product understand what's going on and are ultimately taken care of.

How long do you have to file a dispute on ebay. Lets say i buy it in August and i get it ****ed up today. its been 5 months im sure you cant even leave feedback whats the ebay time frame 30days? 90days? Im just curious cause there going to be a lot of unhappy people with this thing who bought it ages ago.

If I'm not mistaken, you have 30 days to file a dispute with paypal. I don't know if eBay will be of any help. You may have better luck with your CC company and that's where I would start. But given how much time has passed, I wouldn't expect too much.

thats what i thought! damn! now i see the dangers of preordering on ebay! sounds like the easiest way to rip people off! that sucks! im glad i dont do that ****!
