I don't know why, but when I was an undergrad, I HATED weight training. It seems like I just felt like crap doing it, and felt like crap when I was done, and I didn't see much improvement even after doing a bit of it, so I didn't have much to keep me at it. I only enjoyed jogging. But now, it feels like I do after I've spent time helping someone move--the relief in the body makes me relax for several hours afterward.

This is really the motivation for me. In an abstract sense, I would like to lose weight and get in better shape, but the good feeling is really what is reinforcing my behavior. I actually look forward to my exercise time every day.

When you are out of shape it is easy to feel bad after as your body is not used to the workout but after some time your body will accept it and the enjoyment will improve. Most people fail in the early stages as they cannot get to that point. It is hard work and requires a great deal of commitment, that is why it is great to see people continuing to post here as they have not given up.

Question for you protien users

I cuurently and have for years been using Optimum protein, but money is tight these days and the EAS is over 20$ cheaper, is there a real difference in the two? or am I just wasting money?

Thanks

Last night had a phenominal workout, did chest and bi's, all time personal bests I may add. Finally dumbbell pressed 145lbs in each hand for 4 reps on the incline motion. 150lbs is the goal and then I would have maxed out the dumbbells set at Golds. Felt awesome, also had my partner there to witness the whole thing, otherwise I prolly wouldn't of tried it without a spot.

Also reverse negative curls on the Olympic straight bar with 135lbs for 4 X 4, never went that heavy as to a plate on each side doing negatives.

and this morning weighing in a 178lbs drop 2lbs from last week. Lean mean fighter mach......!!!!!!! :rock

Nah it's all good man, whey protein is usually just that... "whey" the only product I think that is worth more is the faster absorbing Whey Isolate but that is much more expensive, like $40+ more expensive.

Isopure I think on average runs $60-$70 per 2lbs tub and if u can find it cheaper get it! I usually stick with Whey protein reg while bulkn anyways and with cutting I'm off the powder period.

Some better deals online with BB.com

Optimum Nutrition is the general best Whey for the buck though, speaking quality and quantity wise but the EAS stuff won't hurt u if u need to go cheaper.

Yeah the EAS works well and if you get it from Sams it's really cheap. Hit the scale last night and I'm up at 215. I was down to 200 just two months ago. :(

Don't get discouraged as I was stuck on 190 for a few months and then it just went down to 170 in about the same amount of time. Keep moving and eating well.

Ok. here's "In the day" pics. In these I was 5'8-190/8-9%BF at 17-18 yrs old. The pic with Nasser was in the late 90's and I was at 220+. I will post some new FatWing pics when Saya snaps a few for me. Yes I was a hairy ...ard. Most people thought I was in my 20's.

Awesome news Skiman, glad you were able to dominate the weights man! :rock

And great pics dwing, I love that pic with you and Nasser....That guy is awesome!

And Shadowking, that is why I love this thread... Just to see people sticking with it is really motivating and makes me smile. Weight training is very hard in the beginning. You just seem to hate it every day, you feel weak, there are exercises you can't seem to pull off... it's really tough.

I really wish all my fellow freaks success, it's great to build up together as a unit... we can be a support system for one another that will only benefit each and every one of us.

Thank you DA, even typing this I kind of have to stretch out my chest, it's a tad sore and that is a great feeling, it's very hard to make my chest sore. Last night we got a lil crazy with the flys and did burn out sets towards the end and pushups to failure after each set.

I usually have a pretty good workout by myself but whenever I have a group or just my partner, I tend to push myself to the break or til there's just no more.

Yeah, I know how you feel. Today was my chest day and it's the first time I've been sore there in a long time. I did 80 lbs DB Bench today, as well as 120 Barbell Decline, and 40's DB fly's today.... Really tore me up. My chest is definitely feeling it now...

At one point I almost threw up... :rotfl

Conditioning will come, the more you get use to taking 30 second breaks between sets, really gets the conditioning up.

That's one thing or a pet peeve of mine is that whenever a person just sits there and stairs at the wall for like 5 minutes while sitting on the bench.

Or even better, a cell phone in my hand :lol sometimes I couldn't tell yah if I remembered to bring it in my car...

Broke down and bought some superpump 250 today. Gonna give it a go tomorrow, been wanting to try a preworkout supp. (must up the reps on 170 DB presses )

LOL yeah funny how it seems impossible at this point. But i know it will happen sooner or later. Only getting about 5 reps with the 85's. When i'm doing 12 reps with the 90's i'll have to upgrade my powerblocks to the BIGBOY kit.

We'll see what superpump can do for me over the course of the tub.

I can't work my chest hard right now. I have had issues with both my shoulders. I was able to get back to 80lbs BD presses only to re-injure myself the next week warming up w/25's. I've had 4 cortezone shots in my elbows and shoulder. It really sucks. I've spent time rehabing and just doing pushups on the smith machine. I keep getting lower the bar and adding more sets/reps.
