Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I wanna say its his darkness still lingering on inside but others have said intersting thoeries aswell.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

is funny the beginning of the last episode reminded me of how Breaking bad Always started

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

He wasn't overly bloody but he did have a wound + a little blood on the left side of his face by his eye that wasn't there in the original shot.

Lori's point was, the men don't need Andrea's help. But the women DO. So while Andrea is out toting her gun around and trying to be one of the guys the women are having to pick up the slack with their jobs. Not to mention, as sexist as it may sound, NO ONE in that group will ever view Andrea as a "protector" like they view the other men. Regardless if she can shoot or not. And even that's debatable because let's not forget she's the same FUBAR that shot Daryl. :lol

I'd rather have Andrea protecting me than Dale. He is so useless when it comes to that. If Lori needs help so badly (which I don't think she does), then get Dale to help out.

Dale is useless? I think the fact that he is radically more grounded than Andrea (and has nothing to prove) makes him infinitely more reliable.

Yeah that is pretty much what I thought as well. Especially after he saw his reflection in the broken glass.

That episode was just damn poetic.

True.. but did they need her to be there shooting? Nope.

Nope. There isn't a single woman there who would pick her over one of the men to protect them on a dangerous mission. And none of the guys would pick her either if they had the option to take another guy instead. All the women there would feel safer with Dale or Glen than Andrea.

Don't knock Andrea's new skills. She'll be the best with the gun and her skills will come into play better when they're somewhere else where inevitably the ADD ___________ will be whining about them staying in the same place for all of Season 3.... it's coming.

And :lol at Lori trying to justify scrubbing skidmarks. The world is over as is any sense of normalcy. She'd be better served actually paying attention to her own child and pregnancy than causing drama left and right, trying to be queen bee.

Kevin Smith made an interesting point. We all know Shane would never leave Rick. But until he saw the two dead guards side-by-side and was reminded of himself and Shane, Rick was about to do just that. It makes me think if Rick, to some extent, is just as delusionally selfish as Lori.

Yup, useless to defend or protect anyone. What is he going to use? Harsh language?

What does he do when Andrea is on watch (which was Dale's primary job)? :sleep?

Can't wait for him to die. :dance

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I suspect Dale is a Nam vet that's killed 10 times the number of living humans as Shane.

As to Andrea, I didn't have any problem with her speechifying to Lori on Lori - I'm not a Lori fan, either. My problem with Andrea is her own inability to see that she owes her very life to Dale, and that her concept of suicide is screwed. She still complains that Dale took away her choice, although by doing so he gave her the time she needed to come to grips with her loss. When Shane does something similar but to Lori - lying to her to make her come back after the wreck - Andrea thinks it's the right thing to do. Hypocrite much? While it is important for everyone to make their choice, they have to do it with a clear head, not one reeling from a recent emotional impact.

On a side note, I also wanted to slap Herschel's daughter. Like Rick in the earlier episode said, things haven't really changed with life and death. Did she really think her mother wouldn't die? That people don't end up suffering? Death, suffering and pain are a part of life, zombies or not. Life is not fair, life is rarely sensible. But somehow hundreds of generations before her have found a way to have a life and move forward, making the best of the situation and doing the natural imperative - surviving and reproducing to ensure the survival of the species. That's their job and their purpose now, and it's a hell of a lot more important than any purpose they had before the zombie apocalypse.

I like Andrea for the fact she didn't get all attached and possessive of Shane after their little whomp.

:exactly: On both counts.

If that's true, it's a complete shame that it didn't give him the ability to adapt to the new world. He's proving to be more of the type that needs people to keep him alive than someone capable of self preservation. While Dale's idea of that term might be different than Shane's, in the world they live in, he's proving to be more of a liability, than anything else, let alone, the love interest to Andrea he's hoping to be.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Watched this latest episode last night, excellent television as usual!

My take on Shane's gazing at the Walker...

I think there was probably some symbolism going on, but if you want to give it a practical meaning, perhaps it was to show that the Walkers are slowly but surely making their way towards the farm. And Shane doesn't say anything because he's somewhat hoping that the "safe haven" that they've settled into is dissolved, so that he has a chance to prove himself against Rick again. Shane wants to feel needed, now more than ever, but he needs chaos in order for that to happen.

Obviously my own subjective speculation, but yeah. :)

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I thought that guy lost his leg. And how did he even know Maggie was there? I thought they kept him blindfolded and isolated in the barn. Did I miss something?

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Rick pulled his leg off of the spike, no one cut his leg off.

I thought they kept him in bed while Hershel worked on his leg? He probably saw or heard Maggie.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I thought Hershell was going to amputate his leg. there was so much damage to that leg amputation would have been the only course. I don't care how fine a vet Hershell is, that leg is not going to survive. Probably in the regular world too.

So now not only does he keep the leg, he can walk, and with only a slight limp????
