Colin Kaepernick
Colin Kaepernick
Who cares if he stands up or not? He doesn't have to if he doesn't want to. It's such a non-issue, but a perfect instance in which people can post their frustration online for something trivial. I'm just waiting for everyone to start putting a 'Merican flag over their FB pic. Ryan Lochte is probably sending him a Thank You card for getting him out of the spotlight.
So you two think it is trivial, great, that's your prerogative. It matters to me though and to me is not trivial.Yea, trivial. Didn't know his name until Ween bought it up.
Anyway, been on jury 3 times. Last time was dismissed but he did his fair share.
Yea so some of us love our country and don't fall into all the hate America and hate the police crap. Yea I talk **** about Obama. I feel he has been a detriment to this country, thus harming the country that I love. You don't think the things that make me angry aren't important in the grand scheme of things? The future of this country is damn important to me, sorry you don't feel the same way. What Kaepernick is doing may not be important to you but it is damn important to me.I'm tired of people acting like he kicked George Washington in the balls when a lot of the people complaining probably don't know anything about George Washington except that he was our first President. A lot of people I see complaining about it are the same ones that talk **** about Obama all the time. It's ok to disrespect the POTUS (no matter what party they are) but not the anthem? Trump talks **** about how awful America is every day but he can run for President? People just have to find some cause to get behind so they look like they give a ****. It's just too bad that the issues that make them angry aren't important in the grand scheme of things. Real issues require more work than changing your FB avatar, hitting "like" on a post, or posting a meme.

It's the whole symbolization of it. Most people in the U.S can have a pretty good life if they put a little effort into it. You have all these entitled SJWs going off on how bad the country is, and that it owes them something. J.F.K is rolling over in his grave for what his party stands for. How about every body makes their own way in life? How about people not rioting and burning their own towns down because a cop justifiably shot a bad guy doing a bad thing. These are the kinds of people that Kaepernick is protesting for. So again, it is a big deal.
It's unfortunate that someone is doing something that makes you angry, but it happens every day to everyone. People need to learn when something is a big deal and when it's not. Not standing during the anthem isn't a major issue in the grand scheme of things. He's not oppressing anyone, not making it so the troops can't do their job, not trying to make others follow his lead, etc. He didn't even make an announcement about it. The media made it a big deal and some people fanned the flames. Do you get mad when someone doesn't put their hand over their heart when it plays? Because I remember when Obama was standing during the anthem but didn't have his hand over his heart and some people went ape**** and others didn't care. Same thing here and it still doesn't matter. There is nothing in the Constitution--no law--that states anyone has to stand or hold their hand over their heart when the anthem plays. He's doing a peaceful protest to bring an issue to light and people pay attention because he's a celebrity. There are a lot of disgruntled people in this country that aren't happy with how things are here--it's been that way for a long time no matter who has been President--and no one listens to them because they're not famous or don't play football. At least he's not raping, murdering, beating his spouse, doing drugs, dog-fighting, etc. like some other guys in the NFL--all of which were allowed to continue to play the game and whose fans eventually explained away their conduct or forgave them--as long as they make touchdowns and tackles. But God forbid someone doesn't stand during the anthem.
Oh believe me, I don't forgive any of those ***** either. I don't watch much sports anymore because of all the idiots in it now.
There's nothing wrong with complaining, or protesting, about things, but you don't have to be disrespectful in doing so. He knew damn well that by not standing he'd piss a lot of people off. Personally, I think he knows his playing sucks and he'll get released, he just wants to go out a "hero" to a few.
It'd be interesting to see a white player or player that was doing well in their football career do the same thing and see how people would react. It's also interesting to see some soldiers respond positively to what he's doing. In the end, people are going to think what they want and react how they want. I just noticed that this has gotten a much bigger negative reaction than some other players have gotten for actually committing crimes, and I don't get it.
IN my state if you have performed jury duty within the last 3 years of being called again you can opt out.
