I see ppl saying you shouldn't be able to buy a machine gun, or that you should be able to convert it. But I haven't heard any politician say lets collect everyone's guns.

And for the record, that's a HORRIBLE idea. For many reasons.

You would have to outlaw hunting too.

People keep comparing us to Australia and the UK, both are basically islands. They have more control over what comes into their countries. We don't. We have a wide open border that would supply criminals, and nutjobs, with anything they wanted. Then you'd have a real mess.

only one answer...

Hunting would be allow by Mr. Green but it's not the same and would be heavily regulated. People only need a simple rifle to hunt deer/bear for meat. Each weapon would need to be registered and accounted for each year. This is only allowable in states that have bears. The rest would have to go about with bow and arrow. But it doesn't matter since it would be impossible in this oh great nation that is so stuck up. But who knows, other nation like Mexico might follow and pass such laws.

You own a cell phone? How about a knife? Baseball bat? Hands? Do you smoke? Drink alcohol?

These aren't the same as weapons made to kill people efficiently. One person will have a much harder time to kills 57 and wounds 500+. It's not the same.

The more people there are in the world, the more crazies there are.

Yea, human nature can't be trusted. It doesn't matter if we go into space. We haven't solve anything. Population grow and technology change but we're the same.

Don't want a world where Mr. Green is dictator (or anyone that refers to themselves in the third person) and decides for all.
I'll stick with the Bill of Rights and Constitution.
But feel free to run for office or lead an effort to repeal or amend said rights.

Sometimes you say things that are ok.
Sometimes.....

I can be a tricky bird to figure out.....

You can ban guns....it won't stop things. The Bath School massacre occurred almost a hundred years ago....and that wacko didn't use a gun...Crazy people have unlimited time to think of ways to harm innocents.

The 2nd amendment is important not because we need an armed populace to defend us from each other.....its important to defend us against our own government should they try to oppress our other freedoms granted in the Bill of Rights. The founding fathers knew this oppression and wanted to be sure the government (local or federal) would always have a way to defend it self against all enemies...foreign or domestic.

Its a sad day either way. Important to remember this guy was using illegal automatic weapons also. so, like most crazy mass shooters...he was none too concerned with following the law.

if you're referring to guns, I'd bet 95% of the guns in the US are made in the US. Why smuggle in a gun when anyone can get one at Walmart or cabellas?

Drugs is a diff issue. We are highly dependent on foreigners for plant based drugs.

Mr. Green was talking about getting rid of all guns in the US. I was just pointing out how much easier it would be for criminals to get them anyway since our border with Mexico is pretty much wide open. That's only IF they try and get rid of them all. Of course it would never happen. Way too late in the game for that.

What difference dos that make? A cell phone is a tool that many people have. When it is used correctly it can be a lifesaver. When used in the wrong way it can ce deadly. Over 3000 people are killed each year from people not using cell phones correctly. So are you going to get rid of yours? No? Why? Because it affects you. Knives kill more people each year than rifles and shotguns combined. Hands and blunt objects also kill more. You ever get your drink on? Over 10,000 die in drunk driving fatalities. They tried banning alcohol once. Didn't work out so well. How about smoking? Over 7 million a year fron smoking. Are they banned? Nope. Do you know who was a big smoker? Sarah Brady of the Brady Campaign. That hypocrite wants to ban guns but she's fine with million dying from cancer every year.

Machine guns have been banned for 30 years and Senator Murphy from Ct has been going on about banning and collecting "assault rifles" and semi autos for awhile

And the correct quote:

“part and parcel of living in a great, global city is you’ve got to be prepared for these things, you’ve got to be vigilant, you’ve got to support the police”

It wasn't. I'd go into more detail about how I feel about things done in the U.K., but unlike many posters from such or other countries who sure love doing that about the USA in this place, I won't because we I know how ****ing irritating it is to hear it coming from the other side.

Whats the point of having any laws? People run red lights all the time. Does that mean there shouldn't be laws against it?
