Re: Venom Movie: Sony working on the Spin-Off

Venom without Spider-man is pointless and lame, sorry. Besides, he should just be a villain in Spider-man's world, not some half-a$$ed anti-hero in his own movie. Please, Sony, sometimes less is more and makes a whole lot more sense. And now there might be two movie versions of Peter at the same time? Wwhhhyyyyyy?!?!!?

Re: Venom Movie: Sony working on the Spin-Off

This is good now we don't have to worry about two separate universes coexisting with one another and actually have Spider-Man fight venom! O happy day!

Waits for

" your an mcu apologist who doesn't understand true art" remark.

Re: Venom Movie: Sony working on the Spin-Off

The MCU Spidey aka Iron Bi*** is immensely underwhelming.

I doubt Fleischer's Venom will have any connection to the MCU. Pascal is being asked a very uncomfortable question whilst sitting next to the MCU's showrunner, so blatantly stating [confirming] SONY is pursuing an independent R-rated universe would be awkward. Specially if the older Spider-Man/Gyllenhaal rumors are true.

I've seen no rumors of Jake gyllenhaal being spidey at all. None. Where did you get this from?

That is a pretty vague response. Connected in some abstract way, and Spidey may or may not be involved? I wouldn't read too much into it one way or the other. Feige didn't chime in, notably.

Maybe he wanted her to "shine" or was like "damn bih we gotta do a meeting tomorrow to clear this ***** up"[emoji23][emoji23] the first time i saw the vid i was convinced they are all connected. Now your comment makes me doubt. Let me just focus on homecoming and take it from there lol

Re: Venom Movie: Sony working on the Spin-Off

I just hope it's connected. Could be in the vain of the Netflix shows . I'm just excited that spidey actually gets to interact with venom in some form. Not just venom wandering around by himself . Still I wonder how they will set venom up?

Infinity war comes out the same yr.... so spidey gets the black suit and then Brock gets it soon after? Confusing......

She probably took a step back and knew the idea was stupid and changed her mind right in the spot. She was probably like " **** Spider-Man is all we have and the reception to the venom movie has been nothing but hate, so **** it".

If this movie was part of the MCU said connection would have been the first thing mentioned in the press release announcing the film's proposed release date, Fleischer and Hardy.

There's a reason the MCU was not mentioned.

Re: Venom Movie: Sony working on the Spin-Off

Could be they are still working out the kinks. I'm sure Sony would like to have such a connection, because the fans would give it more of a benefit of a doubt that way. But I'm also sure they don't want to share profits if they don't have to.

Re: Venom Movie: Sony working on the Spin-Off

Wouldn't be surprised to hear avi arad drop out upon hearing this lol.

Re: Venom Movie: Sony working on the Spin-Off

I'd much rather this be MCU than not. Its tiring how many Spider-man reboots we've gotten so I'd rather just everything be in the same universe and not worry about keeping continuity straight.

Re: Venom Movie: Sony working on the Spin-Off

Being in the MCU is much much better than some obscure one off movie not conbected to anything

This way then maybe venom can show up in guardians of the galaxy 5 or avengers 4 or something

Re: Venom Movie: Sony working on the Spin-Off

Yea i'm tired of spiderman changing actor to actor and being rebooted. You have a suceesful brand and Venom is a successful villain. Put him in the MCU and have the spin off's be part of the MCU. Works so much better that way. I don't know why some people thought having venom by himself or two spidermen running around would be a good idea. The brand is already getting stretched thin. They need to play it safe and not try anything stupid.

Re: Venom Movie: Sony working on the Spin-Off

Daredevil and Punisher are in the R rated category and they're still part of the MCU even if they haven't had any major influence. I don't see why Venom couldn't be the same. He'd have to come across Spider-man eventually, but he never needs to fight Iron Man to be in the MCU. Having two different Spider-man 'universes' at once wouldn't fly with average movie views. I still remember seeing Batman Begins and someone behind me saying "The Joker is already dead, how are they going to bring him back?" Yeah, this guy just watched over two hours of Batman's origin and still thought it was connected to the Burton film. I've never underestimated the stupidity of general audiences after that. I feel bad for that guy if he watches any of the Spider-man movies :lol

Re: Venom Movie: Sony working on the Spin-Off

They could even explain the lack of spiderman with peter going to work for tony for one summer and thats when venom strikes

Then at the end u can have spiderman and iron man show up together to fight venom
