Well he fell face first so when Marquardt was standing over him the only target was the back of the head. Looked similar to the Fedor/Arlovski KO.
 
Some people say it was a case of sportsmanship.. but I don't know. I think if Maia would've fell face up Nate would've cracked him again. :lol

you never know. once someone is out on their face it would actually be hard to get yourself to hit him. when they get ko'ed on their back at least you are punching them in a legal spot..albeit at a slightly illegal time lol.
 
Maia feel on his face but was rolling over towards Nate as Nate was getting ready to unload agian and Nate pulled up seeing Maia was out.

Crap. Guess that's why Couture/Nogueira wasn't 5 rounds.
 
Well he has no say. That would have to be approved by the NSAC. And currently it's not. 5 rounds is the max. Keep in mind: the new ruling allowing 5 round non-title fights with championship level fighters can still be implemented in other orgs. So Strikeforce CAN put on 5 round non-title fights. Obviously Dana has said he won't be doing that in the UFC but other MMA promotions are free to do so.
