Even when Diaz was still in the UFC and GSP was just a title contender, Diaz couldn't beat the upper echelon fighters in that division. He lost to Parisian (before he was a chubby burn-out and was a serious contender) and Dego Sanchez (I know that's spelled wrong, don't care). Diaz is tough, and I've never seen him really get beat up, but if he comes back into the UFC he'll be what he was before, a stepping stone for real contenders en route to a title shot. But, this is the organization that gives fighters title shots after one lack luster fight with a controversial decision in the octagon.

Diaz is alot better now, from when he was in the UFC. But I'm surprised Nate Diaz hasn't gotten cut, I think the UFC is keeping him around to be on good terms with Nick.

He wants to get paid, plain and simply. Dana should give him the big bucks to fight GSP

just cause he's a SF champ means he's a deserving title contendor in the UFC? I don't think so, even Shields had to fight a tough Kampmann before he got his shot, and Shields>Diaz.

Diaz only seems to have touched up on what he was doing at that time. Looking back at that time to now, he's almost the same fighter, just better. Where-as GSP then and now is fathoms better, and a completely different fighter. Call him boring all ya want, the guy learns from his mistakes and knows that the way he fought then was only a severe loss in the makings, and it was (Serra 1).

Diaz at least should have to face a contender, if not at least establish himself in the UFC again. Put him against whoever losses out of Fitch vs Penn 2. If he can't beat those guys, then he has zero business stepping in against GSP.

All-in-all, Nick is one tough cookie, and I enjoyed watching him in the UFC. I feel he is pound-for-pound one of the best fighters on the planet. Even in his losses he wasn't beat. The dude is tougher than woodpecker lips. His fault is his own pride. He won't switch his game up, because he feels there's nothing wrong with the way he's fighting now. maybe the best remedy for that is a good old fashion butt-kicking.

Well he was a TUF finalist, people like the way he fights, trash talks which some people like and the UFC can pay him in munchies and weed.

BOTH Frankie Edgar AND Gray Maynard got injured while training so they won't be fighting at UFC 130.

Edgar hurt his back/ribs and Maynard suffered a knee injury.

Now the main event is Rampage vs. Hamill and the co-main event is Mir vs. Nelson.

I guess, never say never. :lol

Nick's standup is very unorthodox, he throws these "slap" punches and KO's people. I always think when he fights someone with decent standup he's getting KO'd, but he wins. But GSP will just hold him down for 5 rounds, and it would be another boring GSP victory. And I dont hate GSP, its just what would happen.

Is it still going to be a PPV event?

Yup, they just shifted around the bouts. Still decent.

Rampage vs. Hamill
Mir vs. Nelson
Struve vs. Travis Browne
Stann vs. Santiago
Thiago Alves vs. Rick Story

I think they should add a surprise fight. Coker the Hutt vs Dana White. I think Dana would win by Wallet Submission.

Hopefully Rampage worked on his stamina and wrestling defense. :monkey3

UFC 130 is cursed.

First Thiago tests positive so the UFC has to scrap the fight between him and Rampage.

Then Brad Pickett gets injured.

And then Kid Yamamoto.

And then Cody McKenzie.

And then finally BOTH Edgar and Maynard who are fighting in the main event for the LW title get injured.

:lol:lol:lol

too bad Edgar got hurt too, I would have liked to see Pettis get his title shot. I'm real curious how well Ramp will do against Hamill. I wanna see if Ramp can top Jones slam on him. Nelson should KTFO Mir.

I wanna see if Ramp can top Jones slam on him.

I don't think Rampage can slam guys anymore. And I think that's because he's fighting in the U.S. now against guys who cut weight i.e. they're considerably heavier than the guys Rampage fought over in Japan.

I mean look at the difference between the Arona slam and the attempted slam on Griffin. Not even remotely the same force when Rampage picked both of those guys up. He snatched up Arona like nothing. He actually struggled to get Griffin just a little bit up.

I think those days are done.
