I wonder how close you will have to get to the U trooper to see the inaccuracy. I mean the head is 2 inches high...

The specific problems, very close, but the sublte things could make the overall seem off. It's getting all the small pieces write that make the whole image look right. It'd be like a Liam Neeson portrait with Mark Hammil eyes. You'd have to get close to see the eyes aren't right, but if you stand back and look at the head, you'll know there's something wrong.

Sure there are subtle problems (some of which give the mask a pointy look), but the mic area is not. They're perfectly round on the figure and the opening is larger. It's noticeable on the full body shots on Sideshow's website.

I dunno man, I said it before and I'll say it again. Looking at the overall figure, true there are differences (minor/major depends on your POcdV :p), but I don't see a Stormtrooper, Sandtrooper, Snowtrooper or any other trooper when I look at it, I see an Utapau Clone Trooper.

Yes, it looks like a Clone Trooper, but when I first saw it, I sensed something was off, I didn't spot the details that others found, but something didn't quite feel right just looking at the overall.

Look, at $90 customers have every right to expect it perfect.

That's your opinion and you're entitled to it. I personally think that's a little overboard to expect perfection out of anything for that price as we're getting a damn good deal for $90. Medicom or HotToys would be reaming us an extra $60-$80, near double the price. Besides, does perfection even exist? I thought the HT TDK was perfect but the thread was locked because of certain people who didn't think it was even close.

I don't expect perfection. No figure is perfect and I love a lot of the figures in my collection.

The only point i was trying to make was that you don't have to specifically see the small, "off" detail of a piece for the piece to look off. Enough small details not quite right will make the whole look not quite right. I'm just discussing visual perception, not disecting the figure itself persay. I enjoy the visual world and all the little tricks that happen in it.

What's this straw man argument about "perfection"? I just want accuracy. :huh

And save for a tiny beak-like point and round filters, it is. But to say it's considerably off based on those minor points is a bit excessive. And, unfortunately, there are pages in this very thread where people have done just that.

Off is off. And the biggest problem is that it's considerably less accurate than the EP3 Clone Trooper helmets from all other licensees (including, again, even Hasbro's 3.75" figures). This simply cannot be. Sideshow is much better than that and shouldn't allow this to happen. I'd be embarrassed. So hopefully they're acknowledging it and will fix it. And if it's still wrong for the Utapau, that's fine... as long as it's corrected for all others.

Off is off? :rotfl Listening to some of you guys, you'd have people thinking that this:

looks like this:

If you run around life expecting perfection for next to nothing, the only thing you can expect is a lot more running. Again, for the price, it's hardly as bad as you guys are making it sound.

Again, the idea is to point out inaccuracies or flaws in the hopes of making something great even better.
Sounds like a good idea to me.

if i genuinely truly and totally didn't fully completely trust and believe the josh had retired, i'd be suspicious he created himself a fresh pseudonym account in oh i don't know .. august 2008?

Pointing out minor flaws and inaccuracies is one thing. Continually picking something to death, repeatedly, over and over to the point where a freak can bail on a thread for OVER a month, then come back and the same people have the same argument about the same issues which nobody has even taken to the "Ask Sideshow" thread to see if they're even fixing the problem is: :horse.

Sometimes I wonder if realists have been lost to the entitlement generation. Might be a good title for the next Indy movie:

Indiana Jones
and the Search for Realistic Expectations...

His replacement is even worse. If that is possible.
