I'm even thinking of having a small get-together for the arrival of this piece. How sad is that!!

Not sad at all! My friends are always excited to see my new pieces when they arrive. It's great to have a few people around who appreciate your Sideshow stuff and can enjoy your collection. I keep my stuff in my office and many of my friends at work love to stop in every now and then to see if I have any new additions.

Of course, nothing beats the level of appreciation and camaraderie you can get on the boards here, but it's always great to share your new arrivals with appreciative friends--even if they aren't official "freaks" like us...

I do have to say that I'm very happy with it - I desperately want to get a good permanent display area for him, he's now in the middle of the living room. And my one fear is that the lights will burn out eventually as I love to leave him on for hours at a time.

I'm wondering, of the people who ordered the PF Vader, who will end up letting Vader's helmet bother them so much that they won't be able to look at it? Will they put it away and then have the helmet call to them like the "Tell-Tale Heart"?

I wonder that also and if they do that with the Attakus Vader II statue?

Vader has arrived and he is spectacular!!

I just recieved my Premium Format Vader figure and you can place me firmly in the blown away catagory.

This is an amazing piece and the best Sideshow Star Wars piece yet... I am going to go on record that it might be one of their best over all pieces... right up there w/ 1/4 Phantom and The Cave Troll. (Subjective opinion, I know, but they just keep getting better and better)

The helmet size fits the figure and the overall look of the piece... accurate or not it works very very well. This is my favorite Star Wars collectible by far. A few things I haven't heard mentioned yet but that surprised me when I opened the box. The wheels on the mouse droid roll! So be careful putting that little guy on his stand. He is heavy too and feels very solid. The surface of Vader's stand and the stand for the droid are painted with a high sheen polish and have been shipped with a protective plastic coating... nice touch to keep the shine intact. It will be tricky to keep polished but is very much appriciated.

It is tricky getting Vader on the stand and making sure the posts connect correctly and the cape was tricky to get on... It fits snugly and was worried I might pull the chain off but it held up very well.

Many of the critiques that have been going on will vanish when you have the piece in your sight. He is powerful looking and the mixed media works exceptionally well. There is a lot of love in every detail.

Shyah, I ordered mine on the 22nd, and I've also been charged. I'm SO happy now. Looks like we shall have it next week sometime!

It surprised me by arriving this afternoon. The StarWars PF line definitely took a big UP tick today. Vader is ABSOLUTELY georgeous. I love the high-gloss finishes and the 1/4 scale is really imposing. In fact this format is SO over the top, I wonder if it almost limits what is practical to do -- For example, I'm happy to have Gentle Giant mini-busts of minor characters like IG-88 and Tarkin or "variations" like stormie Han. This format may only lend itself to Key characters in their most recognizable roles.

In any event, Vader definitely deserves the treatment, and I couldn't be more impressed with the mixed-media effect in this treatment. (Although I've stated some slight ambivalence on prior occasions and probably still consider the pure poly sculpts my preferred medium generally speaking)

Well, after somehow mistakingly going to Houston and trying to get delivered it showed up on it's arrival date. The wife has hidden it somewhere and told me to find it! Top it off, the FED-EX dude just left it on my front porch without a sig! Great, now if I can just find the thing and have no problems with opening it.
