Re: Vader has left the building!!

If you look at the Medicom Vader closely - he has boot top sleeves that are sculpted to resemble shin guards. So actually SSC's is more screen accurate.

Re: Vader has left the building!!

I agree el.

So back to Vader leaving the building...

Wave One shipped a week ago. Wave Two was bumped up to only a one week delay. Does that mean that some of us might get shipping notices tonight? Pretty please?

On man! I sure hope so! I just got a shipping notice on my case for it (arrives on the 9th) so hopefuly Vader isn't too far behind. :D

Re: Vader has left the building!!

According the the SW Chronicles book the boots are 110% accurate.

Re: Vader has left the building!!

I received my EXCLUSIVE VADER yesterday, but didn't have a chance to open him until this evening. After reading the initial reactions of those of you who'd already received yours, I was expecting to be blown away. But to my disappointment, I've found a couple of flaws in my figure. The first thing I noticed was that only one of the bottom two corners of the "triangular" grill on Vader's facemask was painted silver. I logged into this site to view the pics posted on this thread for comparison, and realized not only was one corner unpainted, but in fact BOTH corners were missing those bolt-like extensions visible in the pics!
Secondly, the right foot (the one with the posts that secure it to the base) had some wobble, and looking closer it appears ready to detach from the leg!
For those of you who have this figure already, am I nuts or should there 2 silver protruding bolts in the bottom corners of the triangular grill on Vader's facemask? I realize Sideshow will replace my figure, but after waiting patiently for nearly a year, I hate to wait another 3-4 weeks for a return to be processed and a replacement sent! And my figure had a relatively low number ( 198 ), and my replacement will undoubtedly have a much higher one!:banghead

Re: Vader has left the building!!

I agree Robo. I'm starting to wonder if I should start crossing my fingers. It could be why the second wave hasn't shipped yet too. Dunno.

warlock664: Do you mean the tusks? Can you post a couple pics of the area in question? :)

Re: Vader has left the building!!

Yeah, I guess if that's what you call 'em, tusks! They are missing completely! I'd attempt posting some pics, but I was so disapointed about it that I re-packed & sealed the figure back in the styrofoam, and boxed it back up to get it ready for return. I hope the replacement process is quick, but I'm not optimistic.

No worries. If you find time over the weekend to take it back out and get a pic or two of the mask, it would be appreciated. For all we know, there may be other collector's out there who have the same problem and not even know it. SS probably wouldn't get you an RA until the middle of the week anyway. :)

This is starting to get really scary! I've never heard of any piece having this many quality control problems before.

It doesn't seem to have that many IMO. I've read a few but not any more than usual. As far as the statue goes that is.

HAHAHA. Sooo true. I've got 10 MR helmets of all varieties coming in, and this has been the single biggest headache I've EVER had to deal with on any single statue or prop.

Re: Vader has left the building!!

Thanks for the pic Mitt. I can see the blemish perfectly. That definitely reminds me of the Code3 bases and GG statue bases.

Re: Vader has left the building!!

Yeah, the base on Vader seems to be having some major issues but the statue seems to be getting through pretty good.

With all due respect, HUH ??!!! How can you make THAT judgement? I wouldn't say one way or the other at this point, since a great majority have yet to be delivered, and we don't know how many others may be defective. I DO know that I would expect NO MAJOR quality control problems on a figure of this expense, considering it took nearly a year from solicitation for delivery. And I certainly wouldn't expect TWO defects of the type mine had . I'm not ready to draw any conclusions on the entire run based on my figure, and I certainly wouldn't expect you to, either. Have you received your Vader yet?

I'm simply saying from what I've read so far he seems to be making it to his homes just fine. Your correct I don't know about the ones we don't read about but I'm just basing off what I have read. It appears Vader with the exception of his base seems to be making it just fine or as fine as most pieces talked about on this board.. That's all I was saying I think your reading way too much into my comment.

As far as having got mine yet. Nope still waiting :(

Re: Vader has left the building!!

i just reexamined my helmet and foot paint issues.the foot just looks like it was already on a base(weird as it hasnt been on one yet?) and some of the paint got scuffed off,it doesnt look like a chip to me, and the helmet looks like the paint got rubbed off also exposing the undercolor of the gun metal grey on one of the raised side areas of the face mask.not actually chipped.i think i could repair those ok,but the base has to go.i would consider keeping the whole statue and having just a replacement base, and a small credit to my account to cover the costs of the paints i will have to go buy,to save them the hassle of shipping the whole thing back and taking a loss that way.i will mention it when i am contacted back about the replacement

Re: Vader has left the building!!

Thanks for posting that base stain pic. That's exactly what mine looks like. I had trouble getting it to show up in my pics earlier. I can't tell if those little white dots on yours are dust or damage.

I'm still on the fence about sending my Vader back. The new Vader I get could be in worse condition.:sick You can't see the stain when it's on display either, so I don't know if this technically counts as "damage" if that makes sense.

One interesting thing that I notice is that the stain on yours is in the same place on mine:

I wonder if it has to do with the way they were handled or packed?
