That's what I'm thinking also Josh. I bet they were still wet when they got packed up. That's just a guess, of course.
I'm one of those people that isn't picky at all about sending things back for defects. If it's just a small matter, then I'll try and fix it myself. I think this will probably go back, though. It's just too big of a factory defect to overlook on such a nice piece.

That's the only thing I can think of but like you said it's just a shot in the dark.
Yeah, that could be distracting to look at for sure and as you said on such a nice looking piece it would bother me.

i am very picky when it comes to defects and damage,i go over every piece i recieve from any company with a fine tooth comb,but that wasnt nessasary on this one,base was the first thing i unpacked

Because these pieces are limited, I wonder how many Sideshow can replace? Do they keep extra stock on hand to replace the defects?

Well guys, I decided to send it back. I think I would regret it if I were to look back at it 6 months from now, and kick myself for not sending it back.
The main reason I had been holding off is simply because I like it so much, and it will take a few weeks to get a new one. It will be worth the wait, though.
For the record, this is the first piece that I've ever received with a defect that warranted a return. I hope SS gets these issues resolved by the time that Obi-Wan ships, since he has the same base.

I finally got mine yesterday and I love it.
My base has the same problem as elwood's Vader but mine is no where near as bad. In fact when Vader is on the base you can't even see it. The "mess" is rather small and his foot and cape covers up most of it so I'm just going to keep it.
I'm more upset with the incorrect lights than the base. It's still though a great item and one of my favorite pieces. Can't wait for Obi-wan!!

I've been meaning to do this, but here you go:
With Vader facing towards the front. His cape looks horrible, because I messed it up when I turned him. I like how it looks in the first picture.
Anybody else think the Mouse Droid seems WAY too big? I need to look up some reference photos.

Well, I haven't been charged yet, but it appears that a hold was placed for about $370 on my CC over the weekend, and my order now shows "shipping soon." So it seems that wave 2 is leaving the building!

I think I've been spoiled by the LOTR polystone statues, because the real cloth on these figures makes them look like glorified dolls. I can live with that in the case of the 12" figures, but not at the price these guys command.
Maybe I'm just a PF virgin, but if something doesn't drastically improve with Leia, I'll be cancelling her. And she's an exclusive, hey, so at least a waitlister will be happy...
