Its to bad this is a DC property, those would all make great Premium Formats.
It's not officially announced (yet), but... Hot Toys is making WATCHMEN figures!!
And Adam from DarkShadowCollectibles and I spoke with a WB rep at a party on Saturday who has seen the latest rough-cut. He said, "this is going to make every comic book superhero movie before it look silly... and that includes DARK KNIGHT."
:eek
Sooo Im almost in tears of happiness and dread. I mean thank GOD... but damn are these gonna cost a lot. Are they going to make EVERYONE? Or just Rorschach and Comedian? Ahhh sooo happy. Do we know WHEN this will be announced?
I just heard from G4 that Doctor Manhattan will appear in the movie completely nude, never thought they'd be that faithful to the comic.
All the Watchmen hoopla made me pull out my copy to refresh my memory. There's so many scenes shown both in the trailer and in the posters above that are straight from the comic. Zach Snider is really trying his best to recreate the book down to exact detail.
Yeah, he said on G4TV that tried to follow it pretty much to the T.
And did you see his Story Board/War Room??!! It was insane!! It looked like had had story boarded every single page of the movie to shoot it exact!!!! God, I can't wait!!!!
"Sure, there have been changes. The catastrophic climax is different. Provactive bits, like a timely subplot about alternative fuels, have been added. And a pirate/horror comic book that was threaded ironically throughout the Moore/Gibbons narrative is set to become a separate animated DVD. But Snyder's film clearly seeks to emulate the comic's arch-yet dramatic tenor, it's time shifting, perspective switching storytelling, and it's richly realized alterna-New York. The Gunga Diner, the "Who Watches the Watchmen?" graffiti, the blood-splashed smiley face button evoking a doomsday clock-it's all there.
Now comes the hard part: keeping it there. Snyder's current three hour cut won't be unspooling in theaters next March. Robinov says 2 hours and 25 minutes is more realistic...The studio might be gutsy enough to back Watchmen, but it wants to make a profit too.
...Snyder hopes the fanboys understand that even with these changes, no other version of the film that preceded him dared to be this faithful. And as he spends the next eight months slicing and fine tuning, he prays his fellow Watchmenphiles will cut him a little slack."
I am gonna start the 2nd read of Watchmen today
I expect to have read it a least 5 times by the time the movie comes out
Dude, I bet your mind was blown when you read through it the first time...
The theater EXPLODED when this trailer hit... people were loving it. Even got applause.
It looks PERFECT, every shot like the comic come to life. I really can't wait to see this movie, I'm still astonished to see it coming out at all. It seemed like an impossible task, but it looks like Snyder is doing great work on it. And PERFECT song choice, that song was really wasted on that Batman soundtrack. Here it works much better.
