You know what's weird? The event, and this discussion is so similar to the Nolan series, it's scary.

The random act, without reason, or logic...like the Joker...the discussion of if killing someone is the justice....

____.

You are still missing the point. You have sympathy for the family. You are not putting yourself in their shoes and imagining what they must be going through and what they must be feeling.

I've done that. But not everyone would feel the same. And I don't have to agree with their feelings either.

Batman might favour Draculas arguments actually. In many case perhaps so would I but not in this one.

Rather I think of Two-face's line "Its about whats FAIR!" or Ras Al Ghul saying ''criminals thrive on society's ''understanding'''

You are 100% correct in that statement. That is how you feel. Just understand how others empathy make them feel and try and not belittle those feelings.

I didn't. I understand their feelings of being pissed off. I am too. But to actually want to see the guy tortured and killed. Wow. I can't agree with that.

Sorry to put you in this position. God forbid something like this happened to a loved one of yours, how would you feel?

I'd probably feel just like the victims do. But don't think they all feel the same. Not everyone lusts for blood (awaiting another joke or insult about my irrelevant username).

And hey, if it did happen to me. And my feelings were "screw this world, I want to blow it up". Would you actually want the world to be blown up? Empathy? No?

No one is saying "screw this world, I want to blow it up". Were saying screw this sick sadistic SOB. He deserves to die and to burn in hell.

It someone killed another person, and there is no doubt the person committed the crime, then they should die. No long drawn out death row, sentence carried quickly after trial.

Self-defense or defending someone else is the only situation where I see killing justified. Killing a criminal who is in custody/jail and not a harm to anyone anymore is not self-defense. There is a reason why most countries don't have the death penalty anymore and hopefully more countries will become more civilized. Because it's primitive. We are better than the murderers and we will set an example for them, we are not like them.

Anger: I'm judging it on the countless of people who want this guy tortured or dead. This won't solve anything. Could you explain to me how his execution will solve anything for the victims and their families?

Can you explain to me what benefit allowing him to live would serve?

If someone touched my son I would torture them and kill them in a manner that would make Hannibal Lecter sick to his stomach.

And no, I'm not kidding...

See, where this makes some people say "barbaric or unenlightened" I see a great father who protects their own.

I can't say whether I would...but I hope I would and I would feel like a coward if I didn't.

That wasn't what I was saying. But some of you people pretend as if you have empathy for the victims families.

But it goes as far as to what you agree with. If their feelings was to blow up the world or maybe kill the murderer and his family, would you still have empathy? No. You would have empathy with the part where they feel sorrow but you wouldn't agree with their illogical emotions that they are having after being the victims of something so terrible, would you say that people make logical decisions in times like that? I don't think so. And not all families have said they want the murderer dead. We haven't heard it, yet everyone claims they have empathy as if the victims all feel the same.

No, people here have personal feelings about this. That's what it is all about.

And not everyone would have the same feelings. What good will it do when we have killed the murderer. What idiotic satisfaction have it given you? More killing. Wow.

And please stop it with the religious fairy tale bull. There is no hell, the only place where he can rot is in jail where he deserves to be.

If the answer to any serious crime was death, would it make the world a better or safer place?
