Batman TDK would have sucked without that Jokers preformance.. Ironman was a much better flick!

I'm Also, without Ledger that movie would have fallen like a house of cards. He was oscar brilliant.

The same can be said for Iron Man as well.

Without RDJ, Iron Man would have been a flop. It was his performance as "Tony Stark" that made Iron Man great. He really didn't do anything for the "Iron Man" character. Tony Stark is the real winner in the movie. THe CGI is what made "Iron Man" great.


For the record, I LIKED BOTH MOVIES.


I did though like TDK more but I'm 10 Xs more a Bats fan than Iron Man fan.

Batman Returns was good, it did a lot for DC.
Superman Returns sucked all the life out of it.

Cannot compare Iron Man and Dark Knight though.
There was anticipation for both.
Without Downey, Jr., IM prolly wouldn't a been so good.

The Dark Knight had a lot of hype.
Had Ledger had not passed away, would the movie had done what it did????

No way.
It sucks to say, but no, the movie was as anticipated as it was because of Ledger.

It is known that I am a Marvel fan.
But I am a Bale and a Ledger fan as well.
I dislike DC to the Nth degree.
Batman is about the most tolerable character in DC, but had Ledger not passed away, DK woulda just been another great summer flick, not the blockbuster that it was.

I completely agree. Both are solid movies, and there is much more to like about TDK than just Ledger's performance. Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Aaron Eckhart and Gary Oldman all turned in great performances. Christian Bale, not so much (at least for me).

However, I think it is very silly to think that there was anything extraordinary or magical about the script for TDK. Anyone who saw the movie and was surprised by its "unpredictability" was simply not paying enough attention. Also, I think it is disingenuous for anyone to try to deny that a significant portion of the box office take is due to Ledger, both his performance as the Joker, and the fact that it was his final performance. My guess is that, had he lived, the movie would have made at least $100 million less than it has.

The trailer and the first 6 minutes were shown...and hmm....people were going nuts over his proformece *GASP* before he died! Yes, his death brought some of the fans who probably wouldnt see the movie, but wanted to see Ledger one more time....true. But thats not a HUGE majority. Im sure if you recommended this to someone you wouldnt say "Oh this movie has a dead guy in it. Go see it."

Ledgers death would have helped opening weekend alone. The film making it's way to 500 mil is because it is a good movie.
