I'm sorry to say I found Shawshank.... a bit OTT and overwrought!!!

I know that it's a veritable heresy, but at the end of the day it's an OK film about incarceration, but it has been elevateted to some kind of holy testament to salvation... It was OK! nothing more!... well for me at least... not talking for you... as a criminal case it may have meant more to you!
i can agree with you on SR, it was just a convenient example.
:lol I love knowing that every thread board has at least just one guy that is NOT a nerd. So if you're on toy forum harrasing people because you hate Arnold what does that make you?

Please enlighten us all on how you came about this great coolness. :D

I went with T1, both are great nostalgic movie masterpieces but..T1 seemed so merciless compared to T2 and more of R rated movie..maybe it was rated R?.

you know how i can tell when i'm right about something?
when you start posting personal attacks instead of refuting my point.

stay classy.

[citation needed]

well, you probably know he wasn't Cameron's first choice... he was more like the 3rd or 4th choice to be "born to play the role as the Terminator".
so, you'll understand if i don't take your word on that. and as i look at your username/avatar, i'm detecting some bias here.

me.

bring on your impotent nerd rage.

Personal attacks? Kinda like the ^^^^ you've already done? Anything else? Get a life man. :D

What exactly IS your point? You hate Arnold? Would you like a hand shake or something for that?

I like T1. It had a better story and more of the future war, plus it didnt rely so much on SFX or plot holes. The villian was an implausioble liquid-metal/shpe shifter either.

It's so hard to decide between T1 and T2. But I have to go with T2 on this, it just expands and explores more of what it means to be human. T1 was great for its taste, I think Arnie really acted like a robot in that one than he did in any sequel.

let's see...
the 1st thing you highlighted was me pointing out your bias. and the 2nd has already been pointed out as not being serious.
not seeing any personal attacks there. but, it's interesting that you're taking my posts so personally.

and yes, a handshake would be nice. though, i prefer high fives.
T3 got another vote!!!

T2 for me.
T1 was great and all, but for a complete filmic experience, the sequel trumped the original in almost every department. now i'm not talking abt premise, because obviously u can't top an original idea (which wasn't that original to be honest, just ask harlan ellison).

but i mean in terms of the craft involved, T2 was superior. visual effects, sound, editing, score (brad fiedel actually improved and expanded on his iconic theme), cinematography, etc.

and i loved how cameron developed and deepened the terminator universe, instead of rehashing or re-visiting the same thing, which happens with 90% of sequels.

he introduced the idea that in itself, technology is amoral. it is neither good nor evil, it's what u use it for that makes a difference.

and he also made us think abt the fact that if machines themselves can learn to value human life, why couldn't humans? it was a pacifist message hiding inside a movie filled with violence/featuring violent acts as a means to an end. a very sneaky and subversive move. i love it for that.

The Terminator for sure - some memorable moments...

Favorite for me is T2. I know T1 is the original and all, but T2 just left the most lasting impression on me. I don't think T3 is as bad as alot of people think either. :monkey3 I loved the T-X, I just thought the design of it was awesome.
