Your missing the point. The difference between Gilliard and a guy who writes what is essentially glorified fan fiction, is that Gilliard WORKED ON THE FILMS. He was familiar with George's intentions and worked under George to put to life what was ON SCREEN.

In addition I am not too surprised to find that the dumb fans are the majority. :lol

oooooohhh, talk about dragging it out! Read my last post carefully and ingest. I said that Nick Gillard was not 'IN' the Star Wars Universe. I am fully aware of his role. Cor, it's like talking to a potato.
I have missed no point. Calling fans dumb is pretty rude though fella, whether they're right or wrong. I think one of the Sith Kids should send you an itchy Force Rash.:emperor:emperor:emperor:emperor

George also over saw how the novel was written(much darker then the movie by the way). So the novel holds weight as to George's vision also.

I have read that book too. Can you quote the specific passage that makes it so clear?

Page 329-333 tell how Mace took the fight to palps. I dont really wanna qute the whole thing here.

Just did a little web research, and it seems that in the commentary on the ROTS DVD Lucas confirms that Mace overpowers Sidious - so I guess the majority aren't so "dumb" after all!

Of course, those who disagree are still interpreting that statement in their own way.

If anyone can provide a transcript of the commentary, I'm sure it would prove illuminating.

You're taking it out of context. Mace does overpower sidous, but only right before anakin walks in. Up to that point, they were matching each other blow for blow.

The question is weither or not sidious lets Mace overpower him.

There is too much inconsistency from novelization to film. to use it as a basis for judgement. In the AOTC novel Yoda clearly outmatches Dooku, but in the film its pretty close.

Also to note that there is always a such thing as an upset, and that generally comes about when one dramatically underestimates the opponent.
Trust me, I've been around Philly sports teams a long time.

Yup, going by the films Mace did win the battle.

Boba Fett is dead.

Maul is dead.

dead.

On screen is what counts. To hell with the EU and their make believe bs and fan wishes :lol

There is some story somewhere that has mace survive the fall from the window, but he's so stunned at his own defeat, that he simply wanders the lower regions of coruscant a broken shell of what he was, and completely insane.

That latter one sounds pretty cool. Kinda funny how we have movie canon and EU canon.
