Except for the fact that one of these two ideas is correct and the other is incorrect. We both have an opinion as to which is which, and we all vehenmently beleive that ours is the "correct" answer. The problem is unless we ever get the opportunity to ask TMRFE which it is, this debate will rage endlessly.

Ironic that were both jaded in our views, just as the Jedi and sith were.

But that's from your point of view. You're treating the other opinion like the mindless ravings of ignorant school children, which isn't very fair. This isn't two plus two, it's a matter of opinion, like which music you think is better or who you think is a better painter. There's no right or wrong answer, and it's not nice to think that only some people really "understand" the issue when it's so utterly subjective.

Now Now Mr. Faramir, don't make me put you in time-out. :nono

If I made anyone feel like and ignorant raving school kid, I apologize. In my opinion it is just that. 2 + 2 = 4. Sorry. But that is my opinion. If my opinion is that you are all mindless dolts (which it isn't) that is still my opinion. Everything I have said is said in good nature.

If you are taking this thread so seriously that my words are making you feel like a child, well... Nothing I can do about that. I am just getting bored waiting for my Palpatine/Sidious figure and this thread is an excellent outlet and a lively discussion is taking place.

If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen sonny. ;)

Yes another confirmation that Lerath is blessed with great intellect. :lol

(j/k Ed. Don't git yer knickers in a bunch). :D

Despise me not for my youth! I'm glad to know that your comments are harmless; I'm sure it will help others who have felt somewhat put-off. As for the Captain, it takes a lot more than what people here have got to get rid of him. Faramir may be gentle, but he can take whatever heat you wanna dish out at him.

I am seeing an awful lot of people in here who are undestanding that 2 + 2 = 4 but there is a lack of comprehension about what "4" means. :lol

We all know that Mace "won" the duel. The issue is whether or not Palpatine let him win. Or in other words, whether or not Palpatine meant to lose.

Sorry I dont buy into your dubious use of math skills pinhead.
The implications from all reliable sources in the know is that Mace had the superior saber skills and won
the saber portion of the duel fair and square but the duel continued on a different level.

yawnnnnn.

I can't believe this is still raging.
I did sum all this up rather brilliantly I thought a good few posts back.

MACE WON THE BATTLE.......... SIDIOUS WON THE WAR.

Which, in plain English means that Mace had the upper hand in the lightsaber duel, but thanks to the snotty whiney teenager Palpatine walked away from the battle.
Skill was not his ally, it was circumstance.

Right now can we get on over to the 'Padme/Leia Hotness Thread Please?

D:chew:chew:chew

Except for Nik Gilliard.

Besides which I am sure if you ask Palpatine himself he would tell you he could kick the Jedi crap outta Mace. :D

pinhead? :monkey2

ME: Hey Sidous could you beat Mace in a fight.

Sidous:I would crush him

*SLJ walks in and says* mace is a BMF and he'd kick your ***

Sidous: can I change my answer.

:lol

Emphasis should be placed on Palpatine springs to life.

Exactly.

"You are under arrest, my lord," he told the Chancellor, motioning to Anakin to stay back.

But Palpatine was not looking at Mace Windu. "Anakin," he cried. "I told you it would come to this. I was right, The Jedi are taking over."

-------------

"He has too much control over the Senate and the Courts," Mace replied. "He is too dangerous to be kept alive."

"It is not the Jedi way." But the Chancellor has daid the same thing about Count Dooku. If Jedi Master and Sith Lord made the same argument, were they really so different? And I need him to save Padmé.

But Master Windu was not listening. He raised his lightsaber - and Anakin knocked it aside. The unexpected blow sent the lightsaber flying... and left Mace defendless against a new bolt of Force lightning. Chancellor Paplatine was faking! He was not tired at all.

When Anakin enters into the office, Palpatine puts in motion plan B: Turn Anakin right now and use that to kill Mace.

.... and a child(rens book) shall lead them.

Good find Outer Rim. :clap :clap

I need to clarify something: You cannot plan details of a duel.

Palpatine's error was assuming he was a better swordsman than Mace.

Mace's error was assuming Palpatine was defenseless.

Yoda got blasted with Force lightning and got up pretty quickly as well and in good enough condition to battle Palpatine all out.
